The Danner Shoe Manufacturing Company opened its doors in Chippewa, Wisconsin in 1932. With 12 employees, Charles Danner set out to make affordable, hand-crafted boots for working men. The company prospered, both during peacetime and in war, and over the years Danner has broadened its remit. Today the company still produces work boots, but Danner is probably even better known for its superlative hiking boots. The company is also a key supplier of footwear to the US military; in particular to elite special forces such as the Marines, the Rangers, Delta Force and the Navy Seals. What Danner doesn’t produce is motorcycle boots. But are they up to the job? You bet they are!
