Off road ride evening rides Product Information

So this is something new for 2021; the first outing will take place the evening of 10th. May. The plan is that the evening rides will run pretty much every Monday after that, unless there’s a reason not to. We’ve put these rides together with a local company called ‘Off The Kerb’ who know all the trails around here better than anybody.

The plan is for a maximum of six riders to turn up here at about 5.45 pm, with a view to a wheels-up departure time of 6.00 pm. There will be a shortish road section before we get to the turn-off point to the evening’s trail. We reckon that we’ll be out for a maximum of two hours. For those who want, there’ll then be an option to grab a drink in a local hostelry after the ride.

This is is not going to be hardcore. If you’ve got a high-performance enduro bike of some description, stay at home because you’ll find our evenings rather boring. This is more by way of an off-road bimble than a daring adventure. There will be some fun bits, bits where you can test yourself, but our idea is that there will be nothing to intimidate the relative novice; male or female. We intend this to be an introduction to riding in the beautiful Surrey Hills. It’s not going to be a full-on TRF see-how-stuck-in-the-mud-you-can-get trial.

Just about any kind of adventure or off-road bike will be welcome; and any such bike will be more than up to the job; anything from a Honda CRF 250 up to a BMW 1250 GS with cast wheels. You’ll probably want something with knobbly or dual-sport tyres. You won’t need full-off road gear. Of course you can wear what you like, but a Leatt brace and plastic, off-road boots are going to be a bit OTT.

Now, for Motolegends, this is not going to be a money maker. It’s just something we wanted to do for, and sometimes with, our customers. The cost will be £30. And all this will go to Off The Kerb. This seems to us to be a more than reasonable cost for an evening of two-wheeled derring do. But there is just one little twist. You cannot cancel once you’ve booked.

And that’s not about us; that’s about the guys at Off The Kerb. This is not their hobby. It’s how they make their living, and it’s simply not fair if they turn up here only to find that they have just a couple of customers for the evening. Our non-cancellation policy means that Fred and his team will always cover their expenses. So please just accept that if you have to cancel, for whatever reason, you’re going to be a few quid out of pocket.
