Icon Patrol 2 boots in black Product Information

Icon’s Patrol boots in black are not new; in fact, they’ve been around for a couple of years. The Patrol is a lightweight boot that is made from leather, but a leather that has been given what is called a ’Tectuff’ treatment. The boot doesn’t feature a waterproof membrane, but the treatment delivers what Icon consider to be their highest level of waterproofing. There are D3O protectors in the ankles, and you get a plastic reinforcement panel in the heel. To soften the gear change, there’s a system of rubber nodules on the toe area. But, of course, what everybody really loves about the Patrols is their BOA lacing system. There simply isn’t a boot that’s easier and quicker to get in and out of. Also available in brown.

Product Reviews

David Jones: Great boots, almost.

I bought these boots for commuting and so far they have been comfortable practical and very easy to use. I have not used them in really wet weather so far, so I can't really comment about how waterproof they are. However, I do have my reservations. The nine 'dots' used as a 'shift pad' have come away from the outer layer so when on the bike they sink away into the boot and I am left with 9 holes. My guess is that this will not be great in the wet. Shame really, I like the boots they are just let down by poor manufacturing.

Neil Hartup: Mr

As I was interested in buying a 4 season boot capable of using on any of my different style bikes, I spotted these. Please take note, size of the UK is incorrect. My real boot size is 8.5 to 9 UK. The boot I purchased is a UK 10, but if you like more room using a thicker sock, go another half size. These are a good fit with light socks plus a bit of stretch after they break in more may have a good size to fit me. Using the click tightening method they do grip the lower part of the foot before clamping the upper. So beware if they are a bit big you may get the wrong clamping arrangement. Now I've just written this even before wearing them out on a bike, so today I went out in 6 degrees for a couple of hours and only wearing summer socks was very surprised that my feet weren't a bit cold, so thumbs up here. All in all a good purchase for £130.
