Duncan: Product Review
I bought a pair elsewhere and I cant give them a five just yet as they where so difficult to get on until I bought silk socks, now no problem and I expect them ( its day three) to wear really well. They have a very good grip and are warm
Steve H: Pretty good
I am quite pleased with these, though would say they are no better than they should be for the price. What's good: comfortable on and off the bike, easy to get on, good feel for the controls, will go over or under trousers, warm (I suspect too warm for summer TBH). Seem fairly robust though I will try not to put that to the test. Might have liked a slightly stiffer sole though that is a trade off with comfort, and as they say the safest gear is the gear you will actually wear. They sized up pretty true to size for me.
Less good: a few niggles on the design. To get them on you have to lower the zip below the strap at the ankle. This is Ok, (unless you tighten the strap you can poke the zipper through with a finger) but then you can't tighten the strap if you wanted. The little tab of leather that goes over the top of the zip isn't really big enough to fasten firmly with its Velcro and can come open (so far the zip has not pulled down though. Last although the leather is really nice, the gusset behind the expansion cut at the top (if you see what I mean) is some high gloss plasticy looking stuff. (so it is behind the zip but you can't see that when the boot is on). None of this is exactly stuff you worry about when you are wearing them on the bike though.
