Product Information

Shark is very much the helmet maker in vogue right now. Nobody is pushing the boundaries of helmet design like this super-stylish French manufacturer.

In 2013, it was the Shark Streetfighter. Early in 2014, there was the innovative, dual-purpose Explore-R. And now theres Sharks most exciting helmet to date: The Road Warrior.

We just love it, and the way it combines the goggles of an open face helmet with the chin bar of a full-face helmet. The inspiration for the Road Warrior is the Southern Californian bike scene, where it has become very much the fashion to wear goggles instead of a visor over a classic full-face helmet. Its a cool look, but for real world riding it often doesnt work. The goggles dont usually sit flush against the face, and theres only scant protection from the elements if it rains.

The Road Warrior, with its aggressive, custom and streetfighter aesthetic, is both the coolest looking helmet on the planet, and one that is totally up to date in its functionality.

The helmet weighs just 1250g, for supreme lightness and comfort. Comfort is further enhanced with a natural bamboo liner, and aeration diffusers and channels.

The goggles have a quick release mechanism that allows you to remove them with just a forward flick of the finger. The goggles themselves are double layer, and are both anti-fog and anti-scratch.

For a more snug fit around the head, the Road Warrior comes in 2 different shell sizes, (with many manufacturers, the smaller sizes just have more padding, making the helmet look too large on the head). If you want to wear spectacles or glasses underneath the goggles, the Road Warrior comes with Sharks Easy-Fit system that provides channels down either side for arms.

Of course, as with all Shark helmets, the Road Warrior has the companys class-leading 5 year warranty. And dont forget that, with Motolegends, you get free delivery, and free returns for up to 12 months.

This is the most exciting new helmet weve seen in years. Whether you ride an aggressive sports machine, an adventure or off-road bike, a custom, modern retro or classic motorcycle, the Road Warrior will look just right.

Get your order in quickly, as initial supplies into the UK are going to be limited.

Finally, if you find this, or indeed any item of motorcycle wear being advertised for more than £5 less than our price, well beat that price by 10%.

This helmet is compatible with Sharktooth Intercom systems.

Ian Bourke: Product Review

I have been using this helmet for about a week - just urban riding. As with everything there are pros and cons, but overall I like it. Pros: - Light (noticeable lighter than my Shoei XR-1100) - Allows easy turning of the head (again, much better than the Shoei) - Doesn't fog up at all (although I can't vouch for the cold weather performance) - Nice snug fit when on (see below for more) - Comfortable to wear with glasses - I think it looks great - Goggles are slightly tinted and appear to have a slightly mirrored finish from the outside Cons: - Quite hard to get on initially - tight over the crown of the head and likes to pin your ears down. I'm sure it will ease up with wear though, and as stated above, very comfy when on. - Obviously not airtight, so a little breezy but also very noisy - ear protection required IMO. I would not want to be on the motorway with this helmet. - The chin bar feels a little too much like a bolt on to the shell as opposed to an integral part of it, but this is a minor niggle. Overall, I really like this helmet. Shark are marketing it as an urban helmet, which I agree with. For non-motorway riding it will be fine. The separate goggles are pretty handy too in practice. Just make sure you've got some earplugs! If you like the styling and need a new helmet then it's definitely worth a look.
