D3O Ghost Level 1 hip or shoulder armour set Product Information

D3O's Ghost armour was introduced into the company's range of protectors at the beginning of 2020. It does not work on the same basis as standard D3O armour, with a non-Newtonian fluid at the heart of its structure. But, the triangular grid structure of the armour absorbs energy in the event of an impact. Like all D3O armour it is highly flexible, and becomes more so as it absorbs the body's heat. But it hardens on impact. Ghost armour is particularly thin, however. It still meets the EN 16121 standard at Level 1, but because it is so light and flexible it is even more comfortable to wear than a standard D3O hip protector. The armour has been designed so that, in most instances, it will fit directly into the standard pockets that took the 'old' D3O protectors.

We also offer D3O Level 1 hip or shoulder armour with Velcro.

We now offer D3O Level 2 Ghost hip or shoulder armour.

Reviews

Martin: Good Product

Fit is good but there is room for improvement to live up to the name ghost

Brian: Great material but disappointingly poor fit

See my review of the kneeelbow version of this product. The hip armour is too long for the pocket in the BMW trousers, which is a shame. Some more market research by D3O to get a better generic shape would mean this stuff should fly off Motolegends shelves!
