Shima Caliber gloves in black Product Information

Shima demonstrates our entire approach to motorcycle apparel. We came across this glove at one of the big, international trade shows a few years ago. Truth be told, the Shima range is huge, but we were only interested in this one glove. And that’s because it is rather special. It's about as summery as a summer glove gets. It’s made from a perforated cowhide for a perfect combination of protection and airflow. But what makes it so special is that it fits so well. It's a short glove, but the detailing is lovely, with small accordion stretch panels in three fingers. The knuckles are protected with a hard protector. And you get extra layers of leather for added abrasion resistance in all the areas where you might need it. It also has a great look that will work on any kind of cool bike.

Please note: Shima gloves come up slightly smaller than other brands. Please check the size chart before above before making a purchase.

Tremayne East: Could be really nice but they're not

Good quality gloves. The safety features are there except for a double lining down the side of the palm. Reinforced padded palm and the extra padding for the heel of the palm is great at reducing a fair amount of vibrations from the bars. The perforated leather seems to let a little air flow thru, and the goatskin leather does feel pretty good, if not a little 'slippery' on the grips. The gloves seemed mismatched in sizes, the left hand fit perfect, the right a little tight. The pull-on tab underneath to help get the gloves on is a good feature but I feel it should have been moved to the outer side to make it more effective at getting the glove on. The biggest downfall for me was the internal stitching, particularly the right hand little finger whcih, given the tightness, kept digging into the side of my second knuckle half way along the pinky finger making it very uncomfortable. I tried a couple of rides to try and stretch the leather out a little but it's not enough. I've since sold these off to replace with others, but I really do want to like these gloves. If they fit perfectly then I'd still keep them and they do look the part.
