According to the blurb, the 75 helmet is being released by DMD to celebrate the release of the first ever off-road helmet in 1975.
Well, it's true that Bell released its first off-road helmet in 1975. That helmet, known as the Motostar, was a derivative of the companys legendary full-face car helmet known as the Star.
But DMD has already made a replica of that helmet, which they call the Rocker. And very nice it is too.
If we're being sticklers for accuracy, the new 75 helmet from DMD is actually a dead-ringer for another Bell helmet, the BMX, that was introduced in 1984. As you would expect, that helmet was designed for bicycle riding. But hell who cares? It's still one cool lid.
DMDs version of that helmet is made from a DuPont™ Kevlar® aramid fibres/carbon mixture, and will be produced in six sizes across two different shells.
The three studs above the aperture are for any suitable peak.
We recently added some Biltwell Googles to the site which fit perfectly on this helmet and look great. You can find these at the bottom of the page or by searching for Biltwell above.
We were told that the helmet will be ready to ship in September 2015, but we wouldn't be at all surprised if there's a delay. In fact, there's bound to be one. Well amend the delivery date as and when we get more details.
