Furygan Kenya Evo jacket in green Product Information

The Furygan Kenya Evo jacket falls into that category of motorcycle jackets that don’t look at all like motorcycle jackets. Indeed, it is very much modelled on the Harrington jacket worn by Steve McQueen and most of the Hollywood set in the sixties. It has an elasticated, blouson hem and elasticated sleeve ends, but it is still constructed very much with motorcycling in mind. It has a durable, textile outer material, but there’s no waterproof membrane, and no removable thermal liner. So it’s going to be highly breathable. For protection, you get D30 armour in the elbows and shoulders.

Specification

  • Constructed with a special coated polyester for abrasion and water resistance
  • 4 pockets (2 outside & 2 inside)
  • D30 armour in elbows & shoulders
  • Back protector pocket for optional D30 back armour (see here for our recommendation)

CW: Good summer jacket, little complain

The Furygan Kenya Evo in green grey is a wonderful summer jacket, on the outside it feels like an Alpha Industries Flight Jacket, but has much more breathability. I used it today for the first time for my 15km commute with a short ride on German Autobahn city near so no high speed, you can survive with 90kmh in commute traffic and the majority in Frankfurt city on my Honda Super Cub C125. I used leather jackets with SAS-Tec protection and a Büse textile jacket with mesh and heavy SAS-Tec protection before and thery are naturally much stifer then this Furygan. The Kenya Evo gives me more movability sitting on the bike and lets air in even at low speed -perfect for hot weather. Regarding the maybe A-Rating. Because of my little Honda and the short trip on Autobahn Ill risk it with this jacket in hot summer. I rely on the D30 protectors to help that jacket in case of sliding. There are four downsides, one could be important for others two are minor 1. you cannot adjust the elbow protectors as far as I see. The protectors are large enough for my arms, maybe other people will feel unsecure. 2. if you use the optional D3O back protector, the collar on the backside buckles and you have to straighten it up again - really a minor downside. This could be a very individual issue depending on one selfs body. 3. if you want to zip up right to the chin, you cannot make this onehanded. The inside of the collar near the throat is in the way of the zipper and I need the other hand to correct that. This could be a very individual issue depending on one selfs body. 4. there is no loop - nor on the inside nor on the outside - to hang the jacket on a hook - I am 1m80 5.9 ft tall with 75kg, so not a fatty and not a skinny and I am wearing this jacket in size M.
