Halvarssons’ Dry range is made from a combination of Polyamide and Spandex. That is to say that it is made from a synthetic material with a component of Spandex incorporated for stretch and added comfort. The Dry range is designed to be used as a base-layer only. Its role is solely to help moisture wick away from the skin. This is hugely important in hot conditions and cold alike. When it’s hot, we need to sweat to cool down, but that can only happen if the sweat can transition from a liquid state into a gaseous one. This garment will promote the wicking that allows this to happen. When it’s cold, we also sweat, but if that moisture cannot escape from the body we will get wet. And when we get wet in cold conditions, our bodies can lose heat very quickly indeed. What the Dry range will not do is trap heat. If you are trying to stay warm, you will need to wear a mid-layer on top.
