In recent years, single-layer jeans have become the preferred form of riding trouser for many bikers. But for some the jean is too casual and relaxed. Some people prefer to wear something a bit smarter. And so the chino or khaki is set to become the next big thing in rider wear; a pant that will be fully protective, that will come equipped with armour, but that will be more than smart enough to wear into the office or out to dinner at even the fanciest restaurants.

The Dainese Classic Tex is that pant. It looks incredibly smart, it is amazingly comfortable, yet is technically very protective. It is made with Armalith, the same fabric used by Rokker in their Rokkertech jeans. This material hugely abrasion resistant, and so we would suggest that this jean is going to match a leather pant when it comes to abrasion resistance. The  Classic Tex looks is a single-layer pant and reaches AA accreditation under EN17092. Dainese supply the Classic Tex pants with CE armour, as standard, in the hips and knees, although it’s not the largest we have ever seen!

We really like this pant. The single downside from a retailer’s perspective is that it is available only in a 34” leg length although clearly as the pant doesn't have a waterproof membrane shortening it is not a problem.
