Leather Motorcycle Jackets

A leather jacket is a motorcycling staple, and it is written in law somewhere that every motorcyclist has to own at least one leather biker jacket. Leather is very comfortable to wear, and becomes more so with age. Leather is also abrasion resistant, although this depends on the thickness of the leather and, these days, textile jackets can offer even more protection than leather. Leather is not warm, per se, but with base layers or a thermal liner a leather jacket can be fine in the cold. But leather is emphatically not what you want in the wet. It soaks up the moisture, and can very quickly make you feel very cold.

Halvarssons Idre jacket in black

Steve C: Very Nearly Perfect

I own, and have owned numerous and expensive jackets and this is the best of them. It has a wonderful weathered look, useful to me because I probably dont have enough biking years to wear in the average jacket I have a Highwayman Cascade from 1979 and it just about looks old. The fit is great. I find many jackets have narrow sleeves and with armour, they are too tight for me. Not this one, this jacket and my Halvarssons leather jeans are my go-to outfit. I can wear this arrangement on all my bikes. The only moan I have is that the leather overlap inside the zip line is a little too narrow. It could do with being 13 mm wider to prevent it getting stuck in the zip. Otherwise, very happy with it.

Halvarssons Skalltorp leather jacket in black

Ste murray: Superb!!

As usual, jacket came quickly from Moto Legends. Excellent quality, nice fit. I didnt want a new shiny jacket and this fits the bill lovely. Not too distressed. Just a worn look. Ordered the D30 L2 back protector to fit. Works a treat. Highly recommended jacket and retailer.

Belstaff Centenary Outlaw Pro leather jacket in black

Steve C: Very Close to Perfect

I ordered this jacket directly from Belstaff not Motolegends this time I ordered it in a 4XL. In 47 years of riding, this has the most fabulous build quality I have ever seen. The problem is the sizing. I tried the jacket, and to my amazement, the gap between the the zip-halves was at least 3 inches, but on paper this should have fitted me. The Belstaff sizing appears to be way off. Im not even sure that the 5XL would fit me - bizarre. I would have tried the 5XL but they are not available, not even at Motolegends, so sadly I cannot enjoy the Belstaff experience.
