Stylmartin YuRok boots in black Product Information
The Stylmartin Yurok is a classic, motorcycling, ankle boot. It’s got all the right bits. It’s probably our favourite Stylmartin style.
What’s a bit confusing is that the brown and black versions are made from quite different leather.
The brown boot is made from what Stylmartin term their Writer leather. A glossy resin is applied to the leather. This is then removed by hand allowing the some of the background tones to come to the surface. The treatment creates a pleasing patina that becomes ever more authentic the more the boot is worn.
The black version is made from a greased, full-grain leather for a slightly more matt appearance that certainly won’t take a polish.
What we like particularly about the boot is its height. There is always a trade of in protection when you wear a shorter boot; and there are certainly some very low, motorcycling, ankle boots around. And in such company the Yurok stands out. It’s not touring boot tall, but there can’t be many ankle boots that are as tall. Extra protection is always a good thing, but these will also work really well with jeans where, to get the right length on the street, they can rise too high on the bike.
For protection, you get a strong counter in the toe box and another in the heel. Both ankles are protected by hard, foam-backed pucks. There’s a sewn-in, gearchange pad on the toe.
The boot is configured as an eight-eyelet Derby, but the top three eyelights are speed hooks which makes getting in and out of a pair of boots like this so much easier. The boots, by the way, come with two sets of laces; a black pair and a green pair. No idea why really!
One thing we do like about these boots is the padded collar. It reminds us of the Rokker Urban Racers. These boots are not those, but this padding is going to do a lot to make these boots more comfortable to both ride in and walk around in.
The Yurok is a waterproof boot, the waterproofing coming from a breathable, waterproof membrane.
Now in their literature Stylmartin talk about this boot having a welted construction. Well, yes and no. There is a welt that is sewn around the bottom of the upper, but the upper is not sewn through the midsole and outsole in the way it is on a proper, Goodyear-welted boot. That is to say that the boot has a ‘faux’ welt. It looks the part, but the welt is really just decorative.
The outsole is a proper, Vibram sole with a Commando-style, tread pattern. It’s the classic sole for any tough boot. It doesn’t get much better.

Firstly, Motolegends live up to their price match promise, no messing around, just immediate honouring of the competition's price. These boots are amazing. Immediately comfortable. You could walk on ice with the vibram soles, so wet and oily roads should be fine. They are very grippy. The leather is soft and waxy. I've used Saphir products to waterproof the leather further and nourish. I recommend Saphir Greasy Leather Cream in black. I am a UK11 and wear EU46 Alpine* and Sidi. Went for EU45 in the Stylmartin given online reviews. They fit well, could doo with a millimetre or two additional length, but EU46 would be too big for me. The laces feel a bit flimsy and didn't match my motorcycle, so I've upgraded to some Tobby hiking boot laces. Slightly thicker and more substantial. I don't want laces snapping on a ride. These boots, with a pair of Dexshell waterproof socks, my toes will never get wet on a ride.

Great quality and looks. The only boots I've ever owned that are comfortable straight out of box! Sizing is spot on for me. Motolegends service unsurpassed as usual. Looking forward to further dealings with this company. Delighted. Many Thanks, Martin.

Nice boots, very light but strong and comfortable, with grippy soles.the greasy leather is so soft, I had to have another look at them, to make sure the courier had not broken them in for me.thanks to motolegends for there first class service. P.j

Love 'em - lighter than they look & well comfy. Only criticisms are that the tongue could be sewn in higher and I wonder if the soles're thick enough: I'm pretty hard on soles and these're half the thickness of some I've killed in the past. Only time will tell. As for waterproof: 1st time caught out, in jeans & long socks, good quarter pint in each boot. 2nd time, in leather jeans, dry as a bone, after a torrential 50 miles of motorway. And they could do wiv a speedlace like my old paraboots.

Nice boots, light but strong. Mine seem to come up a size smaller than most other makes so might be worth checking with Motolegends before buying

These boots offer a good compromise between big bike boots and normal casual boots. There’s enough internal ankle protection, as well as reinforcement at the front of the foot. Of course they don’t offer the same protection as full-on motorcycle boots, but they feel a lot comfier. They’re constructed from full-grain waterproof leather, which is surprisingly rain resistant. I was surprised by just how stiff the boots were out of the box- they took a couple of weeks of riding to break in, but comfort greatly improved once they did. A little ventilation would be nice as my feet tend to get a bit sweaty on hot day.

These boots are very stylish and comfortable. They are easy to walk in when off the bike. I like them very much but they are NOT at all waterproof. I got some over boots to deal with the downpours.
