Motorcycle jackets | Bike jackets | Biker jackets
Choosing a motorcycle jacket is probably the most important gear decision you have to make. The huge choice of bike jackets on the market can be bewildering. There are the safety issues to consider - how abrasion resistant is the jacket material; are there reinforced areas; what level is the shoulder and elbow armour; is a back protector included or optional? Then you need to think about the waterproofing and venting properties of the jacket. Will you be riding in the summer or winter or both? These days a textile motorcycle jacket can be just as effective as leather in terms of protection. But leather has no thermal qualities, and is very poor when it comes to keeping the rider dry, as it simply absorbs moisture. Staying safe on a bike is helped when you ride comfortably, and in most circumstances, hot or cold, wet or dry, you'll be more comfortable in a textile jacket. Textile jackets also tend to come equipped with a whole host of technical features that often don't make their way onto leather motorcycle jackets. Choose leather if your priority is looking good, or if you’re riding on the track. Choose textile for commuting and touring.

Klim Marrakesh jacket in asphalt
Despite my tummy, I am very happy with the jacket. Uprated armour is also comfortable. Temperatures have been at and above 25C, but I have not been boiled in the bag.
Klim Marrakesh jacket in cool grey
Bought this jacket a few weeks ago for the warm summer we are having and I have to say it is fantastic. It is so comfortable it almost like you are not wearing anything, yet it has protection in the right places which doesnt move around unlike my old Knox summer jacket. It also has good pockets and is a really good fit for me. Currently Im wearing my Zephyr under the Marrakesh in the mornings on the way into work just to keep the early morning chill off, then in the afternoon on the way home I just have the Marrakesh on its own. Fabulous jacket.
Belstaff Crosby jacket in sand
I bought this jacket as I had a tour coming up and needed a new one. On arrival I tried it on and it was a good, if slightly tight fit. First ride out was a 200 mile round trip to Aberdeen and back to Inverness, where it hammered Highland rain all the way.No leakages and no drips, so very pleased. Then came a tour to Northern Ireland over the hottest weekend of the year. For most of the trip it was perfectly comfortable but when it got tp 32 degrees I rode with jacket open to get some air in. Later in the week got caught in a heavy downpour, and again no leaks or drips. After a week of riding the jacket seems to have moulded itself to me and is very comfortable. I like the pockets as well, and the inner one kept my phone dry. The only downside is the cuffs are quite tight meaning gloves have to go over the sleeves, so water could get into the gloves from drips from the arms. That said, I didnt actually have any problems. Overall, after 1500 miles I am impressed. For size purposes, I am a slim large with 42 inch chest.
