Ben: Love em
I went up to the Highlands from London in the summer and realised I only had leather summer gloves with me and the weather was appalling. The waterproof gloves I had left behind werent that good so after a bit of research I ordered these to get them delivered ahead of me to my sisters in Aberdeen. They came double-quick and they were a life saver as I came in for frequent soakings on my way around the Highlands, not once was there any ingress of water. Really comfy too and the touch sensitivity for phone screen worked really well. They are not warm in really cold temperatures which I got a couple of times over higher ground, but they do a good job of cutting out the wind chill. I could probably put a thin pair of thermal gloves on underneath in really cold weather. I never thought Id get excited about a pair of gloves but these are excellent, love em!
Columb King: Problems when using heated grips
I agree that these are well made and well fitting gloves. However the first time I used them last spring I hit a band of heavy and very cold rain; so I turned on my heated grips. This lead to water being transmitted into the inside of the left glove. Luckily I was not riding the next day so it gave them a chance to dry out. There is an article on Motolegends own website about the impact of using heated grips with Gore-Tex gloves. Basically it starts working in reverse and sucking in the damp. So yes in summary these are good gloves to wear in the summer when it is going to rain later in the ride. Hence only 3*.
Rod Horne: Great Fit
I've got wide hands but shorter fingers and these are the best fitting gloves I'd found. Not well insulated but OK into winter. Easy to use liner gloves with them which makes them OK for short winter trips. In hot weather I found they made my hands sweat but short trips still fine. Simply very very comfortable gloves. The visor wiper is the best I've experienced. After a year it still works a treat. I was so happy with these I got the Forsair gloves for the hot part of summer which are even more comfy.
Peter Weighand: Good but expected more
As you would expect Rukka gear is expensive and generally for good reason. These gloves are strong, good fit, excellent armour, lightweight and provide good feedback. My only concern was the touch sensitive markings added to the finger tips as I considered this a bit of a gimmick. Ive worn them twice totalling around 6hrs of riding in early summer and after the second ride the touch sensitive panel on the left fingers was completely gone, probably due to this being the clutch hand and plenty of use. Sorry Rukka you loose a star for that.
Tim Styche: Great gloves
Supposed to be a 3 season glove but I have worn it at 70mph for an hour at 6 degrees C, and it works very well. Astonishing gloves, I love them.
Ian Brown: Mr
There are gloves then there are Rukka gloves. Fit well, attention to detail, well made and a bit posh. Buy the best you can afford, is in my view best value in the long run.
