TCX Zeta boots in black Product Information
The TCX Zeta boot is new for 2022, and is the latest iteration of a style of boot that has been in the TCX range for many years.
Truth be told, it’s a style of boot that is more popular on the Continent than it is over here. It’s a bit of a hybrid. In France, this style of boot is worn as much by commuters on large scooters as it is by those who commute on sportsbikes.
It’s an easy boot to wear. They are nice to walk in. And they don’t shout motorcycle to the outside world. But importantly, they give the rider a lot of feel on the pegs; more so than a touring boot, an adventure boot or even a retro-style boot. They are, in some ways, a short version of a racing boot. Okay, you don’t get the shin protection you get with a sports boot, but you do get the same freedom of movement and flexibility.
We come across a lot of customers who want a short boot, but who find that some don’t allow them to easily get their left foot under the gear changer. This is not uncommon, especially if you have a bike with rear sets.
The TCX Zeta is a boot made almost entirely from microfibre. No animals were sacrificed in the making of these boots! The membrane is TCX’s own T-Dry membrane. It works. Your feet won’t get wet; unless the rain comes in over the top of the shaft. The membrane is also highly breathable, so you shouldn’t get sweaty feet even in the warmest conditions.
There are protectors in the toe, the heel and the ankles. There’s a pad for the gearchange. As is clear, the boots close by means of laces. You also get a Velcro strap to fasten the boots at the ankle and to stop the laces from becoming unravelled.
Inside the boot, you get a removable Orthlite insole. The outsole is oil and wear resistant.
This is not a boot for everybody, but if this is the style of boot you like to ride in, then we think that the Zeta is the match of any. But our feeling is that this type of boot is not so much about a style, as about comfort and feel and, as such, if this is the kind of boot you like to ride in, it will work on any bike.
