Belstaff Crosby jacket

In the world of the motorcycling, there are really just two styles of jacket: the short and the long! The long jacket from Belstaff is called the Trialmaster and has four pockets and a belt. The short jacket is normally more of a blouson style, and is often associated with a sportier style of bike. Belstaff call their version the Mojave or the Brooklands. The Belstaff Crosby jacket sits somewhere between the two and almost, for that reason, is our favourite. It just seems to fit more people and works on and off the bike. It still has four pockets, but instead of a belt it has adjusters on the waist to taper the jacket in. New for 2024, the Belstaff Crosby comes in a technical wax cotton in four colours or in leather (called the Turner) in two colours.  In many ways, it is the perfect all-round jacket. Not too long. Not too short. Can be layered up to wear in colder weather but it is light enough to wear through most of the summer. It is, in fact, just right!

How often should I rewax my Belstaff Crosby jacket?

A modern Belstaff motorcycle jacket does not need rewaxing in the way that traditional wax cotton jackets did. They Crosby is not relying on the wax finish for its waterproofing as it has a fixed drop-liner Miporex membrane for that purpose. The modern wax finish is for look and feel rather than pure function.

Does the Belstaff Crosby come up true to size?

Truth be told, even though Belstaff is back in British hands, the sizing is still a little Italian. Check the size charts on the jackets as you will probably need to size up on the Crosby.

Belstaff Crosby jacket in black

Mark: Great Jacket even better service

The Belstaff Crosby jacket is exactly how I hoped a Waxed motorcycle jacket would fit. Its light enough that doesnt restrict your movement and enough presence to give you the assurance, should unfortunate event happens. The fit is very modern and flattering. If you thinking of layering up under the jacket, try it first and maybe size up, As for the Motorlegend customer service, I cannot praise enough how helpful they were. Thank you.

Tim Harlow: Absolute Quality

Ive wanted one of these for years and now its arrived, Im staggered at the quality. The smell of the leather, the detail of the stitching and the way it fits is just amazing. Its a true lifetime item and one I hope my kids will wear long after Im gone ! It fits smaller than UK sizes so buy one size up, my only comment. Truely a beautiful piece and one Im proud to own.

Belstaff Crosby jacket in sand

Jim J: Beautiful.comfortable and waterproof.

I bought this jacket as I had a tour coming up and needed a new one. On arrival I tried it on and it was a good, if slightly tight fit. First ride out was a 200 mile round trip to Aberdeen and back to Inverness, where it hammered Highland rain all the way.No leakages and no drips, so very pleased. Then came a tour to Northern Ireland over the hottest weekend of the year. For most of the trip it was perfectly comfortable but when it got tp 32 degrees I rode with jacket open to get some air in. Later in the week got caught in a heavy downpour, and again no leaks or drips. After a week of riding the jacket seems to have moulded itself to me and is very comfortable. I like the pockets as well, and the inner one kept my phone dry. The only downside is the cuffs are quite tight meaning gloves have to go over the sleeves, so water could get into the gloves from drips from the arms. That said, I didnt actually have any problems. Overall, after 1500 miles I am impressed. For size purposes, I am a slim large with 42 inch chest.
