Shoei RYD CWR-1 visor photochromatic Product Information

The Shoei RYD CWR-1 photochromatic visor (not road legal) is a great all-round visor. Depending on the brightness, this visor darkens automatically due to its light-sensitive coating. This process from completely clear to the maximum tint takes about 30-40 seconds. If the sun decreases, the photochromatic visor reduces the tint, even in bad weather or at dusk, where the visor becomes really clear. The colour impression is a reddish tint and will become more and more neutral with decrease of light. The Shoei RYD CWR-1 photochromatic visor is also pinlock ready, sold separately.

Rick P: Good but pricey

I got this for £90 as part of the Shoei RYD deal. It works well most of the time but in the recent spell of extended bright sunshine I often wish it got a bit darker. But most of the time it seems to offer a pretty good level of protection. Usual Shoei quality in terms of solid, easy-to-fit-and-use construction. Had the visor been the usual price I wouldn't have bought it though.
