Daytona makes the best, most protective boots you can buy and the Travel Star Gore-Tex is the one of the most protective touring boots that Daytona offers. The Travel Star was originally produced for the UK Police, but now obviously it is available to the general public.
The Travel Star Gore-Tex is basically an upgraded and enhanced version the Road Star boot. Like other boots in the range, it is constructed from a special hydrophobic cowhide, although the real waterproofing comes from the Gore-Tex liner. The shaft is adjustable for different calf sizes, and with two side zips they are easy to get in and out
The ankles are protected with special open-cell foam padding. The Travel Star actually features an upgraded insert that is padded with latex. The sole is reinforced, like all Daytona's boots, with a hot-dip galvanised steel inlay.
A rider's legs are always vulnerable. If you seek the very best protection for them, a little over a couple of hundred quid a foot seems like a decent investment!
