Mike Woodford: Function over style
This replaced a 10 year old Dianese jacket and trouser combo Bruce. Its has been a brilliant piece of gear, an early laminate jacket in fact. With its own thermal liner it had seen me warm through many a cold evening ride or touring on the continent. The new Rukka jacket fits nicely is surpringly warm considering the thinness of the zip in thermal liner. The main zip is not very large so I wonder its longevity, in contrast the zip to the matching pant is very chunky and one could imagine it outlasting practical ownership. I dont like the external zip pockets, its too easy for them to come undone or be forgotten to zip them up. Flaps and poppers are far more secure in my view. The additional d30 back protector really gives you piece of mind, its huge and thick for absorbing any heaven forbid impact. The jacket isnt much of a looker if I am honest, but Motolegends offered such a cracking deal I couldnt resist. iIf the Dianese was style over function, I would say the Rukka is function over style.
Steve Dallen: The best
Already reviewed elsewhere but happy to do it again. This is the second Rukka jacket and pant combinatioin Ive purchased the first, and AirPower pair, now over twenty years old, still in use and working perfectly so I was delighted to get this and the pant for the same price as the Jacket only. Obviously a slightly heavier jacket than the original AirPower but purchased for more inclement weather outside the usual riding season. Same excellent construction, and better armour that 20 years ago. Only one volume adjuster per arm, but thats fine as Im likely to be wearing more underneath in the springautumn. Nice vents up the sides should the sun get warm in the autumn. Expect this to last the same as the other one, or hopefully to outlast me!
David Buck: Quality Cool Weather Jacket
Despite Motolegends review of this jacket, I have found it to be an excellent choice for cool weather riding. I had the misfortune to be out on the Motorway in a torrential downpour and the jacket and pants performed admirably. I wouldnt choose this jacket for summer though due to the lack of vents on the front of the jacket. The quality is amazing as is the feeling of protection the garment offers with the huge elbowshoulder protection and the textile material its made from.
Paul Williams: Great jacket
Its very comfortable and works well in the rain and fits perfectly
