Klim Outlander GTX boots in asphalt / high risk red Product Information

The Klim Outlander is a short, adventure-style boot. And it has to be acknowledged that there’s no shortage of these on the market. Normally, the manufacturers merely produce a cut-down version of their full-height, adventure boots. As a result, the boots from TCX, Gaerne, Forma, Falco et al. all look pretty much the same. Yes, these boots do a job, but that kind of expediency simply won’t wash at Klim.

That’s why Klim’s gear stands out from the crowd. The brief that Klim's marketing people issued here was for a short, ankle boot for adventure bike riders. The boot needed to be protective. It needed to be easier to put on and take off than a full-height adventure boot. The boot needed to be tough and strong with all the protective features that would be required when riding off the beaten track. The boot had to be totally waterproof. But most importantly it had to be a boot that you could also do a long hike in. This would need to be the kind of boot you’d be happy to wear for a walk to the top of the hill even after a long day in the saddle.

Waterproofing for the Outlander comes courtesy of Gore-Tex, as you would expect with Klim. And what this means is that the boot's waterproofing is guaranteed for life.

Of course, one of the most trick features of the Outlander is its BOA lacing system. It’s super strong and so easy to use. You can tighten these boots as tight as you want, yet in a jiffy easily relax the fit if you overdo it. The other benefit of the BOA lacing is that it allows you to open up the shaft more easily to create a far more generous entry. Rare will be the foot that cannot slide into this boot in classic, Cinderella fashion.

Other features include breathable Cordura panels interspersed with the leather, extra panels of reinforcing TPR material on the heel and toes, black Scotchlite reflective panels, a gearchange pad on the left boot, a hardened toe shield, and a shank in the sole for torsional rigidity.

At the back of the boot you get a loop for pulling the boot on. The shape of the insole, interestingly, has been informed by the Nestfit programme that has measured millions of feet to determine the optimum shoe fit. The breathable insole is removable and replaceable.

Undoubtedly, the Outlanders are ‘adventure’ in their styling. They would, therefore, look right with any off-road or adventure-style suit and on any adventure bike, but you could just as well wear them with a pair of Rokker jeans on your R nineT.

Chris B: Amazing boots

Well worth the money. I struggle with shoesboots fitting me in general, but these are comfy for all day use, including walking. I wear them on an hour long ride to work even in torrential downpours, wear them all day walking around work and then an hour ride home and they just feel great. The only thing I had an issue with was the first week where they were breaking in, they were rubbing on the arch of my foot. But let them break in and I have no issues now.

Michael: Klim Adventure boots

Excellent boots, comfortable straight out of the box, great on the bike and fine walking around the ABR

Jack: Great pair of boots

Excellent pair of riding boots. Very comfortable straight out the box and very easy to walk around in. Usual good quality you expect from Klim and a fantastic service from Motolegends. I would highly recommended these for riding, walking and even a few refreshments down the pub. Went a size up as recommended.

Roy: Great boots

Ordered these boots having been tempted by the 20 boot sale. I should have known better as I have problems with footwear, because I have very wide feet, with a high instep. However, they looked great and I really liked the lacing system, so was disappointed that they were indeed too tight. I returned them asking for a size up. I then doubted myself, having made the mistake before, ending up with boots wide enough, but way too long. So I contacted Motolegends, voicing my doubts to the lovely lady who was professional, kind and understanding throughout, reassuring I wasnt being a clown at all ! I requested a refund instead of messing everyone about ordering another pair, my refund was completed several days later. So thankyou to Motolegends for their ever brilliant service, but especially to the lady that dealt with my call. I will visit soon to try the boots on this time.

Trevor Gyles: Great all round boots

These boots are 1st class and good for riding, walking or just casual with jeans in the pub! The purveyors, Motolegends, as excellent and professional as ever. Well done Motolegends

Andrew: Top tip, go a size up

Really comfortable and supportive, both on and off the bike. Top tip is go a size up from your usual size as they are small fitting, had to exchange for a larger size which was easy with Motolegends excellent customer service and easy returns. Not tested waterproof properties as yet but in my case I feel itll come in through the top because trousers are never quite long enough for me. Thats no fault of the boots, just me being oversized but I bought them knowing that.

Grant Webster: Perfect for a Long Hot Tour and Hiking

I bought these Klim Outlander GTX for a 3 week trip to British Columbia and Alberta where the bike was showing 43 C one day , lots of miles , on pavement and on some gnarly gravel roads look at another guys video highway 31 one crazy highway on youtube lots of trail walks in national parks and mountains , I only had these and a pair of loop to sandals with me so they were on pretty much 247 , feet were never hot or cold on a glacier. Riding Walking, Pubs, Restaurants, Camping and in the odd very nice Hotel they were fantastic everywhere. Time will tell how they are keeping out the Scottish rain as they are low cut. As a self confessed Scottish tight arse who deliberated for several days as these boots were expensive I can only say that I am very very glad that I bought them.

John Hearns: Klim boots

Took two outings to feel comfortable , very happy. Supple form the outset and for a fossil like me very easy to put on and tighten up.

Graham: Outstanding boots

These are the second pair of Outlander boots I have bought, the first are coming to the end of their life after 40k hard miles. They are so comfortable to wear on and off the bike for me there was no choice but to get another pair. I have some hand made motorcycle boots but these are more comfortable and usable.

Bils108: Great Boot Service

If you are looking for a super short waterproof all day boot this is it. Having watched Chriss video I had to wait for a few weeks for stock bought immediately. I am a regular UK size 9 so was disappointed to find one boot was too small for me so ordered UK size 10 to find one boot was too big. Decided to go to the shop to return both search for an alternative. As always the service was excellent I was advised to also try the liner which come with these boots to adjust size. I hadnt wanted to do that previously as expecting to return them didnt want to scuff up the liner. Anyway the larger size with the liner is a great fit I am truly delighted. As other reviews have mentioned this is light all day comfortable which plus the waterproofing means happy days. Thanks again to Morolegends highly recommend both them the boots.

F D: Great

Didnt buy them here becoz I live in the US but thought Id add my 2 cents. These boots are great. Had them for a couple of years now, theyve kept me warm and dry and comfortable in hot and ice cold weather. The sole is very grippy and good for hiking around after you get off the bike. The boot itself is flex enough so you can walk around in them comfortably. The toe box is roomy, the midsole is normal going on narrow IMHO, keep that in mind if you have narrow feet, you may want to add insoles or wear plush socks to take up some of that volume. The material is seriously robust, Ive scraped granite rocks with them unintentionally and they held up with just a few scratches. The BOA lacing system is in fact really convenient, you know laces of any kind settle after a while and with BOA all you do is ratchet a few clicks and the boots are uniformly tightened, instead of unlacing and relaxing conventional laces. Hard to let go of once you have BOA. Overall, supremely protective to impact and abrasion and very comfortable to ride or walk in. Steep price but worth it immediately and for longevity.

Klim outlander gtx: Comfy and stylish boot

I bought a pair of these last year in the asphalt colour.. The most comfy pair of boots Ive ever put on my feet great protection. I also do a fair bit of walking off the bike and they were ideal for this. So pleased. Ive ordered another pair in the brown leather colour way just waiting as theyre on backorder early 2024 delivery 10 out 10 Build, quality and comfort..

Richard: Great boots but narrow

Really light but comfy and protective. I ended up going for a size higher than I normally take as they are quite narrow

Jim Williams: Klim Outlander GTX Boot

Excellent product, in this colour, that I had waited whilst on back-order. Lightweight and supportive in the right places. Obviously not as protective for the lower leg as a full-length boot but that is the trade-off. As always, excellent and prompt service.

Michael: Comfortable quality

I visited Motolegends to buy the Momo Submachine GTX boots with a £50 discount after ML honoured their price beat discount. The GTX were comfortable from the get go but I decided to try the Klim GTX Outlander and two other short boots to keep Chris busy as a benchmark test. Equally as comfortable as the Momo Submarine boots but with the added feel of a light, yet more protective boot and without the faff of laces and elastic hook as on the Momo with the Klim BOA lace up system, I was sold. Without the price beat available on the Momo, the difference for the Klim increased to £90 but worth every penny. Very comfortable, protective and so easy to remove and put on. Fully recommend.

Paul ..T C: Great boots

After crushing my foot a couple of years ago I was looking for a short pair of quality boots with comfort being a priority .. I have to say I wasnt disappointed super comfy from day one ..look good with jeans great on and off the bike ..highly recommend .

Alan Mitchell: Fantastic footwear

After reading various reviews and watching chap in a cap, I decide to take the plunge and buy these boots. I was not disappointed. These boots really deliver. They are super comfy but also provide an immense amount of support and protection. They are great on and off the bike.
