Klim Adventure GTX boots in black Product Information

Klim is not a company that does things by halves. And it’s not a company that follows the crowd. The Klim Adventure boot is a case in point. It doesn’t look like other adventure boots. But it has a spec. to be reckoned with. An adventure boot has to offer protection in the case of a coming together and protection from the elements; but it also has to be comfortable enough to walk around in.

The Adventure is properly protective, with a reinforced shin plate, and counters in the toe, heel and ankles. There’s also a polycarbonate shank in the sole. Waterproofing comes courtesy of Gore-Tex. The boot has a Michelin outsole and an Ortholite insole that incorporates a gel heel pad.

But perhaps the most trick feature on the Klim Adventure is its BOA lacing system. It’s incredibly easy to use, it’s quick and infinitely adjustable. The last quality required of an adventure boot is comfort for walking the back roads. Well, the Klim Adventure is more than up to the job. Okay, a Daytona road boot might be more comfortable, but you won’t find a proper adventure boot that’s as nice to walk around in

Size Chart

Please note that we have taken the size from the American size that Klim quote. We have then shown in the size drop down the corresponding EU size as per standard industry translations.

However, Klim's translation of American sizing to European sizing is different and the boots will come with a different EU size in the label.

We have tested the boots on a number of people and believe that our sizing is correct. So please buy from the US size or from our corresponding EU size in the drop down.

The boots are quite hard to get your foot in to as they do not have a very wide opening.

Keith: Klim Adventure boot is just That...

Got feed up those uncomfortable plastic boots you get to go off the black stuff and onto that gavel, mud and water, you cant feel anything its guess work that your feet are on the right part of the pedal and changing gear is a task as there is no feed-back from your feet that they did the job as you let out the clutch So, it was off to Moto-legends to find me an answer to my little problem, for a pair of boots that were comfortable to wear on and off the bike and didnt make me walk like John Wayne, wheres my horse, now I know some of our younger riders wont get that, us older folk will, but who cares anyway... That being the case there are a few things I needed in the boots I will need a tall boot an ankle boot will not cut the mustard, as this time I was off to Wales, for some off-road and green lane riding across the fields and wilder lands of the Bacons and Snowdonia. Now the choice was down to 5 boots, so as instructed I needed to try them all on, so I could find the best fit for my feet, could I walk in them, feel that I knew what I was touching when sat on the bike, ok the BMW in the shop isnt a Adventure bike but locating the rear brake and engaging a gear really doesnt matter which bike it is, so after walking around in the shop, a coffee and biscuit later it was decided the Klim Adventure GTX, with the in slip it fitted like a glove, so that was that. So, a couple of weeks to go before the trip worn them around the house, in lose mode at first then tighter throughout the day, after a few days just ware them done up as if I was about to jump on the bike So practice make prefect you have to wear and use them if your going to test them out so out on the bike, as much as possible and I must say over tighten them once or twice but the cord method allows you to readjust really quick so big thumbs up on that, might even use them next time boarding to test them out Well needless to say, they are not getting returned, did everything you could ask and could walk at the end of the day, yes, they got mud and watered a far bit, sat the bike down on them and walked away without any problems. I know Chris and the staff love Klim gear and I can see why, it does what you need it to do I was also wearing the Klim Switchback cargo pants they also didnt let the side down

Simon: The Perfect Solution

I had a pair of Forma boots, very comfortable but, as those at Motolegends can testify from personal experience, that style of Adventure boot doesnt offer the required protection in a serious fall off-road. But Motocross boots, which do give protection, are inflexible and uncomfortable if worn for long. Somehow Klim have come up with the perfect combination of comfort and flexibility with serious all round protection. I wanted a boot for 5,000km of continuous riding over three weeks in Patagonia. I have wide feet cant fit into Sidi of any type. Worn all day every long day of nearly 3 weeks, including flying the 16 hours there and clumping through airports bit of a challenge at security, they have been fantastic. Comfortable, so easy to put on and particularly take off when tired at the end of the day because of the boa system, warm and dry when needed but not overheating when its hot, and providing immense assurance of protection and safety on some gnarly tracks. Initially I thought I would struggle with feel - they are big boots with a huge sole, and I wondered about gear changes, but they have worked without a problem with plenty of flexibility. You have to be careful when standing on the pegs that they dont also catch the brake lever but thats the same with any of these type of boots with this level of protection. I would recommend them without hesitation - another star performance by Kilm.

Mike Denning: Proper off road boots!

These are serious off road boots! They are not just a fashionable off road styled boot. They are heavy and sturdy. They have a very solid sole that I assume must have a shank because they are very reassuring when they hit rocks etc. Waterproof as you would expect for this price. They have a very tight fit. By that I mean that your foot squeezes in but is very comfortable once in the boot. The boa system is effective but probably a bit of a gimmick and I cant see that a couple of straps like a Sidi courier boot would be much worse. They are not the most comfortable boot off the bike and they are definitely a hit clompy - I dont really feel that Motolegends review about them being good for walking up a hill is particularly accurate but each to their own and you might feel that they are great off the bike. They are a hefty boot and probably wouldnt fair that well in a hot climate - thats not a criticism of them just an observation. To be clear, I dont think they are uncomfortable off the bike but they have no flex in the sole which is not my idea of a great walking boot!! Overall, a great purchase for off road riding in cool to moderate temperatures.

Richard: Love this boot

Now been riding in the boot for a year and 8000+ miles. A mix of road, green lanes and gravel. My feet are an odd shape, wide, high instep, hammer toes, really beautiful things As a result, footwear is something of a necessary obsession, especially all day boots. These are unquestionably the most comfortable boots Ive owned. They feel a bit bulky and moon boot like to start but quickly they mould around my feet and I forget about them. I can pay no higher compliment to a boot. Normally they become the only thing I can think about after 4 or 5 hours. A recent Rallymoto event in Wales with 10+ hours in the saddle and I didnt think about them once. All the technical bits like the Boa system and the buckle work flawlessly, they stay put on the pedals when its wet and muddy, not even a hint of damp in hosing rain. Expensive, yes. Worth it? For me, 100 yes.
