Klim Motorcycle Gear

Klim is an American company that makes the ultimate in technical motorcycle clothing for adventure riders for biking either on or off road. Working only with top brands like Gore-Tex, YKK, BOA, Cordura, Koroyd and D3O. What makes Klim special is that it is a company that stands apart from the crowd. You won't find a version of another companies' product. What you get is unique, well thought through, properly researched and tested products that will work for motorcyclists out in the real world.

If we were to cut to the chase and try to explain what Klim is about, I think we would suggest that this is an organisation that is totally product focused. The place is run by ‘gear geeks’. Klim is all about the product. Funnily enough, there actually aren’t many motorcyclists in the motorcycle apparel manufacturing business. And one of the results of this is that the clothing that comes out of most motorcycle clothing brands doesn’t get tested in anger before it goes into production. Klim is different. At Klim everybody rides a motorcycle. They ride in the gear before it goes into production to make sure it is going to do what it’s supposed to do. They test it almost to the point of destruction, and they care about the tiniest details. For the real adventure rider, in the UK or around the world, Klim is a brand you must consider.

Here at Motolegends we have been a seller of the brand for a number of years and are certainly one of the biggest UK stockists for Klim. The company has only been making gear since 1999 but it has become the best in the field. Their pursuit of the highest quality fabrics and materials is unrelenting and, to an extent, they have pioneered the use of Gore-Tex laminates in the off-road arena. But no company puts more time and energy into real-world research. They don't follow trends or fashion. They are interested only in gear that works on the bike; gear that works in the most extreme of conditions, and when it is being put through its paces by the most committed of riders, Klim’s gear works. It is not the cheapest, but it works. It will always keep you dry, keep you cool, and keep you safe. Such is their belief in their product, Klim has an unprecedented life-time warranty on their products.

We have more trouble keeping Klim gear on our shelves than getting rid of it but there are sometimes great items to be had in the Klim sale section.

Klim Zephyr Wind shirt in asphalt

RM: It does what is said on the tin

Had the opportunity to purchase and try for 30 days if not happy money back+ a 33 discount. Couldnt resist. Test carried out on a F900R naked bike and a R1250RS. I had a technical Rohan T-shirt, Forcefield Armoured shirt with D30 inserts and Klim Baja S4. I normally use a LaFuma wind stopper. It just works. On the 1250 RS Zephyr works down to 14C on the F 900 started to feel cold by 16C. I used a BMW Goretex waterproof jacket on both the bikes and I was perfectly fine. I also tried a combination of LaFumaZephyrS4 and no waterproof jacket at 8C on both bikes I normally have the heat jacket with the LaFuma and I was perfectly fine and comfortable. Works well as a layering system. Packs down small. Fits in a cargo pocket easily. BMW sell a similar jacket for £140 so is also good value. Very pleased with the jacket.

Klim Outlander GTX boots in asphalt / high risk red

Jack: Great pair of boots

Excellent pair of riding boots. Very comfortable straight out the box and very easy to walk around in. Usual good quality you expect from Klim and a fantastic service from Motolegends. I would highly recommended these for riding, walking and even a few refreshments down the pub. Went a size up as recommended.

Klim Switchback cargo pant in teak

Michael: All Day Comfort, Clever Design!

My favourite riding trousers, comfortable all day and cover a wider range of temperature than regular riding jeans. But the real genius of these trousers is putting the cargo pockets at the front where theyre easily accessible, why has no one else thought of this!
