Milenco disc lock 14 x 60 mm Product Information
As bikers we all have to accept that the determined thief will always find a way to nick a bike. If somebody can get into the secure deposit vault in Hatton Garden, they can get your bike. All we can do if put the thief to a lot of extra trouble, in the hope that they might find it easier to steal somebody else’s bike. A disc lock is a very worthwhile deterrent. It won’t stop the guys who lift your bike up and put it into the back of a van. But it will deter those who try and wheel your bike away. Indeed, it is suggested that a bike without a disc lock is three times more likely to be stolen.
Now Milenco is not the most famous name in the motorcycle security area, but they do make some of the strongest devices on the market. The company does two disc locks: and they are both rated ‘Gold’ under the Sold Secure System. Gold means that it would take a thief with a “sophisticated array of tools” Some five minutes to break the lock. The locks are made from a composite material. They come with three keys for the pick-resistant lock. The devies come with a lifetime guarantee.
The two sizes are 14x60mm and 12x38mm. The 14mm and 12mm refers to the diameter of the shaft; and this means that the 14mm version is somewhat stronger. The 38mm vs 60mm refers to the distance between the shaft and the inner edge of the lock. So, if you have a larger or wider disc you may need the 60mm version.
