The Arai Tour-X5 PrecisionTone Pinlock 120 is a photochromic anti-fog insert designed for the VAS-A Max Vision visor on the Arai Tour-X5 helmet. It combines protection against misting with a tint that adjusts to changing light conditions. For those who ride through a mixture of sunshine and cloud, that’s a useful combination.

The PrecisionTone lens changes from clear to light smoke as the light intensity increases, then lightens again as conditions become duller. Now, we should be clear about this: it produces a light tint, so you shouldn’t expect the shading of a dark visor. Obviously, the peak on the Tour-X5 should shield your eyes from the glare of the sun. The idea is to reduce some of the brightness on those clear sunny days.

The anti-fog side of things works through a moisture-absorbing lens and a seal that creates an insulating air gap between the insert and the visor. Together, these help prevent condensation from obscuring your view. The Max Vision design fits into the visor’s recessed area to provide a wide field of vision.
