Five RFX Sport Evo ladies gloves in red

We are stocking this glove for one main reason. Sara saw them at a presentation from the importer, and decided that they would go well with her one-piece 'Superman' leathers. And indeed they do!

 

Sara, of course, isn't the only lady rider with a penchant for the colour red, but the decision to stock the glove was made easier by the fact that this also happens to be a very lovely glove.

 

In styling terms, the RFX Sport Evo was born on the race track. But it's not one of those racing gloves with all the bells and whistles. In some ways, it's kind of back to basics. A super-fine goatskin chassis, a hard knuckle protector and a longer cuff tell you where the inspiration for its design came from, but on one level it's just a very nice, really comfortable, visually stunning, summer glove.

 

Sara does wear hers on the track, but she also wears them on her MV which, it has to be said, also happens to feature a lot of red paint!

 

The topside, the palm and the finger fourchettes are all goat. Across the palm, and around the little finger, there's a layer of a suede-like material that's designed to give better grip on the bars, and perhaps even a touch of extra abrasion resistance.

 

At the knuckle there's a foam-backed, hard protector. This is faced with perforated leather, but this won't be of any great benefit, as this is probably the least breathable part of the glove. Behind the protector there's some more perforated leather; and that will promote better airflow. There's a plastic slider on the palm. You also get foam pads on the minor knuckles and in the glove's cuff.

 

The glove fastens by means of two Velcro straps. One at the wrist. Another to cinch down the cuff itself.  

 

The index finger is touchscreen-sensitive, and it seems to work well.

 

One thing that Five does tell us, and it's important because it's not always the case, is that this glove is lady specific. In many instances women's gloves are just scaled-down men's ones. That's just lazy, but it does happen a lot.

 

So, in conclusion, a lovely summer glove. It's a bit on the sporty side, but if you're good with that you'll like this glove. If you're like red stuff, you'll like them even more!
