Children’s motorcycle jackets need to do a proper job when a younger passenger joins you on the bike. Protection, comfort and fit all deserve the same attention you would give your own riding kit. Our current offering is the Richa Tipo children’s jacket, a purpose-made textile motorcycle jacket with some thoughtful features for growing riders.

The Tipo has a 600-denier Cordura outer, CE-approved shoulder and elbow armour, and a pocket for an optional back protector. It carries an A rating under EN17092 and comes with a removable thermal liner. Zipped sleeve extensions provide extra length as your child grows. One detail worth knowing: the jacket has a waterproof coating, but no waterproof membrane, so we wouldn’t describe it as a fully waterproof touring jacket.

Getting the size right is more important than buying plenty of growing room. Check that the armour sits over the shoulders and elbows, and that the jacket is comfortable in a seated riding position.
