Rukka Nivala jacket in black Product Information

When it comes to laminates, Rukka are probably the masters. They were offering laminate outfits way before anybody really knew what a laminated membrane was. They have developed the technology in concert with Gore, and nobody has more expertise when it comes to getting a laminated jacket or pant to work. Their best suit is, predictably, their most expensive suit. It is the Nivala. With stretch woven into the Gore-tex Pro Shell outer, it is more comfortable than a laminated garment has a right to be. Its fantastic, genuine duck down inner jacket also makes it one of the warmest jackets on the market. Of course, all the other stuff is pure Rukka. It's superbly made, and is backed with the company's six-year warranty. The problem for Rukka, frankly, is that all their other suits feel a bit clunky in comparison. They may be a bit cheaper, but try on the Nivala and compare. You’ll soon realise why it's worth the extra few quid. Okay, quite a few extra quid!

Alex: Incredible

I bought the full Nivala suit as a replacement for my old Dainese Goretex suit. Having watched various videos from MotoLegends I decided to order the original Nivala from them as comfort is very important to me and I appreciated the in depth effort they had provided on breaking down the original vs the Nivala 2.0 and Kingsley. I commute 500m a week in and out of London on a GSX-R1000. The more aggressive riding position often results in water ingress and drafts up the wrists due to reaching and down the back of the neck. Not with the Nivala, it is truly outstanding. The cuffs and storm flap are awesome! Im 6,2 and slim so ordered the 52 jacket sleeve length was more important than being slightly oversized in the chest based on the size chart that is and the 50 long trousers my pegs are highish and most regular length trousers tend to ride up over my boots and let water and cold in. These sizes fit me perfectly! With the down liner in this suit is lovely and snug but not restrictive and all I wear under that is a merino base layer. I shall be trying different layering approaches as it warms up over the next month without the liner, hopefully its still as snug without the puffy down. I suspect this suit will be unbearably hot in the springsummer Im generally always too warm, I get sweaty filtering in January but I wont be wearing it then anyway. However for late Oct to early April this suit really is benchmark for me now and its hard to see it being beaten. I wish I had invested in it sooner! As a side note I recently did a 150 mile motorway run in hideous weather late at night and I was bone dry at the other end. The jacket and trousers dripped for about 30 minutes when I got to my destination and were dry by the morning. I havent been absolutely hammered by rain yet on my way to work, but I suspect I wont be putting on a horrible soggy suit 9hrs later when Im leaving at the end of the day. If you do serious commuting, buy this suit. You wont regret it.

Alasdair Denton-Miller: Rukka Nivala

I bought this jacket today after a lot of research and searching for best price. It's a super jacket. Even though I haven't done an 8 hour day back from Germany in torrential rain yet this year, I know I will do soon enough and I can see that the Rukka will perform superbly! Very well made with plenty of the features you need, and none that you don't. Motolegends staff are second to none. I am lucky that I only live 5 miles away, so shopping for high quality motorcycle kit is easy and enjoyable. This is an expensive jacket, but with Motolegends price beat guarantee you won't get better value anywhere.

Brian Little: Mr

This is definitely the best textile jacket I've owned in 40 years of motorcycling. I've had Belstaff, Halverson, Klim which have all been good BUT the Nivala beats the lot. Really comfortable & flexible, warm, completely windproof and waterproof and looks great. The down-filled thermal jacket works a treat without poppers or zips to fiddle around with and the vents are effective when the going gets hotter. The only foible is that I don't see the need for the add-on high storm collar which is restrictive and adds little to the already effective neoprene collar. A really excellent jacket.
