SP Connect Moto Mount Pro bundle Product Information
It's a fact of life that we are all influenced by social media these days. And that you really can propel a brand in this market by getting a number of influencers on board. We know this works as we have seen it with lots of products.
The problem is that having some 'influencer' extolling the virtues of something is no guarantee that the product in question is of any great merit. We've seen this in the jeans market. We've seen it with base layers. And we've seen it with mounting systems like this one.
Cross the palms of these guys with a few shekels of silver, and they will say anything. And that's a shame, because it creates a situation where you cannot really trust what they say. They become guns for hire; and what some of them don't realise is that they are hastening that day when they totally run out of credibility.
And I raise this because, as far as we're concerned, the SP Connect mounts are the best out there; yet they are hardly known. Of course, that's entirely SP Connect's fault; they could have done what their competitors have done; yet it's a shame that they make a superior product, but are virtually unheard of.
Not that this is an issue for us. Any day of the week we'll take a better product over a popular one. That might not make a lot of sense commercially, but popularity is over-rated in our view!
The SP Connect mount is machined from aircraft-grade aluminium; not plastic. The result is a piece of engineering that is both lightweight and strong.
It can be mounted on standard or over-sized bars with diameters of 2.22, 2.54, 2.86 or 3.17 cm. That's o.875, 1.0, 1.125 or 1.25 inches. This covers just about all motorcycle bars, and a perfect fit comes about as a result of the rubber shims that are included in the box.
Your phone can be rotated through 360 degrees in increments of 60 degrees, meaning that it can be viewed in either a landscape or portrait format.
Once secured, your phone is going nowhere. To enable your phone to connect to the mount, you simply have to stick the super-thin, universal interface to the back of your phone.
Now the standard Moto Mount Pro already has a damping element built into it. And SP Connect did this because what became clear was that some modern phones, and more particularly their cameras, could become damaged from the vibrations involved in riding a motorbike. But we here at Motolegends are ultra cautious, and so we have decided to bundle the Moto Mount Pro with a further anti-vibration module. It adds a few more pounds to the price of the package, but rather that than an expensive, new phone!
If you seek the cheapest way to secure your phone to the handlebars of your motorbike, then this isn't it. But if you are looking for the best engineered, highest quality, most robust solution, then the SP Connect may be the one you've been looking for.
