Auritech Earplugs
When you ride a motorcycle you should wear earplugs. No excuses. If you wait until you can tell there is an effect on your hearing, it is too late. So, our advice is to get used to wearing earplugs when you ride. You will thank us one day!
You can buy cheap foam ones. They are better than nothing but they do a very basic job.
The Auritech earplugs we sell do a much better job. This is still not as good as personally moulded earplugs but they are a darn site better than a lump of foam. The Auritech earplugs have a ceramic filter embedded in them, so as not to prevent higher frequency sounds from being transmitted to the ear canal, but block out all the damaging noises.
Alex from Auritech will next be at Motolegends on Wednesday October 15th to do customer mouldings. The cost for these earplugs is £130. You need to book a half hour appointment and can do so here.
The other thing you can do is buy a quieter helmet. And, in our experience, a better fitting helmet is a quieter helmet. To that end we would recommend you try out the Shoei Personal Fit System (PFS) which we offer when you a buy a Shoei helmet. And the quietest helmet on the market is a flip lid helmet, like the Shoei Neotec 3 or the Schuberth C5.
