Falco Multisport boots in army green Product Information
Bike or no bike the Falco Multisport is simply a cool-looking, casual, motorcycle boot. If you saw it in a high street store on in an outdoor pursuits place, you'd have to give it the time of day. But of course it's not just a walking boot; it's every bit a biking boot.
The chassis of the boot is a suede leather. The leather is interspersed with textile panels for added breathability.
In terms of protection you get a toughened counter in the toe, and another in the heel. The ankles are protected with D3O pucks. The gearchange pad is stitched onto the toe and moulded into the sole.
Yet although this is a properly protective motorcycle boot, it's also a super-comfortable one that is going to be as easy to live with as any walking-style boot. It's light in weight, and to make it even nicer to wear, the upper portion of the shaft is padded, and is topped with a band of neoprene.
The Multisport is a waterproof boot. The membrane, as with all Falco boots, comes courtesy of High-Tex. Obviously, the membrane will keep the rain out, but what you need to appreciate is that there is a fundamental weakness with any motorcycle, ankle boot when it comes to keeping your feet dry. And it's that the lower shaft of an ankle boot makes it more likely that rain bouncing off the road, and being propelled by the front wheel will find its way into the boot. A taller boot will always be better at keeping the rain out. It's just something you need to be aware of.
One thing we do like about the Multisport is its 'Quick Lace' system that operates through a sliding, locking mechanism. It's easy to use, and really quick. You press on the sides of the slider to unlock it. You then pull the laces as tight as you want them. At that point, you release the pressure on the slider, and it locks the laces in position. There's then an elasticated strap where you can tuck the spare lace to keep it out of harm's way. It really is easy, especially as the top two eyelets are configured as 'speed loops'.
There's a tough mid-sole for strength. The outsole is a rugged-ish Vibram affair. It’s not exactly a cleated sole, so it’s not intended to cope with off-road conditions but it will cope with anything that riding on the road might throw at it.
These boots are the perfect accompaniment to a pair of jeans. You could walk around all day in the Falco Multisports, and nobody’s ever going to know that you got there by motorbike. We really like them; and in both colours they look pretty cool too.
