Halvarssons Wish pants in black Product Information

The Wish trouser is a pretty amazing motorcycle trouser. The Wish trouser have the comfort of a typical Halvarssons trouser and, most amazingly, they're priced like a typical Halvarssons trouser. But the Wish motorcycle trouser are actually constructed from a two-layer laminate material. Now, these days, most serious motorcyclists know the difference between a drop-liner suit and a laminated suit but, for those who don't, here's a quick synopsis.

A drop-liner suit has a separate waterproof membrane that is suspended inside the outer layer. 99% of waterproof pants are constructed in this way. And the method works. But in persistent and prolonged rain, the outer material will eventually 'wet-out'. The trouser will become heavy, and because there's so much rain water absorbed by the outer material, the rider can become cold, and eventually wet.

For most riders, such conditions are quite rare. The other issue with a drop-liner garment is how long it takes for them to dry out. This is a problem for those who commute for, say, more than an hour into work because it means that in the evening when it's time to ride home, the trouser might well still be wet. This is not very nice.

The other method of construction for textile motorcycle apparel is to use what is known as a laminated fabric, where the waterproof membrane is heat-sealed, on the inner side, directly on to the outer material. Because water cannot be so easily absorbed, the trouser will be more waterproof, and importantly it will dry out much more quickly; normally inside an hour. Now this is manna from heaven for commuters. But there are normally some downsides to laminated garments. First, they're not always particularly comfortable because the fabric can be a little stiff. Second, they can be extraordinarily expensive; sometimes twice the price of the equivalent drop-liner product. But this is where Halvarssons really has re-written the rule book. First because the wish trouser is incredibly comfortable. There's virtually no stiffness to the material. It simply doesn't feel like a laminated trouser. The second shocker is the price!

On the outside, the wish trouser has a supremely durable Teflon water repellent. For abrasion resistance, the trouser is lined in all the key vulnerable areas with Halvarssons' Hi-Art lining that increases the strength of the outer material by 500%. For thermal protection, the Wish trouser have a removable Outlast lining backed with Thinsulate; this is the same as in the Prime and Prince.

Obviously, there's CE approved armour in the knees and hips. And this is Level 2 armour. The trousers can be attached to a jacket. There's always been clear blue water between drop-liner garments and laminated ones. For comfort, it was the former. For value for money too. The Wish trousers are laminated garments, but are priced very much in drop-liner territory. There's nothing like this on the market. Simply put, you get laminated performance, with drop-liner levels of comfort. All for drop-liner money. It's almost too good to be true. But this is Halvarssons. These guys always have their feet on the floor, so it's going got do what it's meant to. The Wish trouser comes in regular, long and short leg lengths. Charlie L: At last trousers that are long enough !

Wow. These trousers are a class above any Ive had before. Ive struggled to get bike trousers long enough in the past but the Long leg size is perfect 35 inside leg. Other trousers Ive had promise to be waterproof but all fail. Ive been in torrential downpours all weekend in Wales and I was bone dry. The venting is also first class when the sun comes out.. These ooze quality and the way they feel when I put them on is sublime. I cant recommend them highly enough. If anyone has any doubts about these - just try them , you wont be disappointed. First class service from MotoLegends as well of course

Gary: Better than John lewis

Firstly, Motolegends better than John Lewis. They gave me an awesome price beat. I purchased a size 50 eu I am about a 34 waist. I have a pair of Rukka trousers these are very similar in size. The trousers are of a very high quality. they come with braces knee hip armour, the outlast lining is very comfortable against the skin. There are 2 button hooks on the waist to choose from, so you can go up or down about 34 of an inch. My review is only from an initial try on. But very happy with trousers. Thank you LEGENDS!

Ross O: Great purchase, perform excellently

After much deliberation on safety, quality, style, sizing, fit and price I purchased the Halvarssons Wish trousers in the long leg option Im 62 tall and hate the Johnny high-water looking trousers on the bike. Im always a bit sceptical of sizing and fit info on websites however the Motolegends product descriptions and sizing information was spot on. Purchasing was secure and easy, and my trousers arrived very quickly and were packaged nicely in the Motolegends logo boxing which is a premium touch. The trousers fitted perfectly, and having already ridden them in cold temps and rain I can corfirm they perform excellently and as advettised. I like to mix and match brands and styles with my bike gear and as an added bonus I discovered that the Halvarssons Wish trouser zip seamlessly onto my Rukka Kalix 2.0 jacket, so thats something of a bonus Highly recommend Motolegends and will be returning for more quality gear.

Doc-L: Top pants

Great fit, great quality, and so far, great waterproofing! Very pleased.

Rob: Wish Pant

I bought these Leggings back in Oct2020 to replace my other Halvarssons that are now 10 years old and have been brilliant, warm, dry comfortable from Cambridge to Kathmandu or Lhasa. I replaced because I needed a smaller size after losing weight. The Wish was a similar spec to my previous trousers and would be my preference to Rukka from a price and feature point of view. The Trousers zip in to my Halvarsson Luxor Jkt and have a set of braces to keep them up in position, all of which works great and is adjustable. I have only recently exposed them to cold ,wind and rain which proved not to be an issue. For colder and longer distances/time in the saddle I would also recommend Rukkas Outlast thermals for both Motorcycles and diving in the UK at 4 degrees as they are amazingly effective. So in summary a fantastic trouser for fairly cold or wet day and can be adjusted for extra warmth or layers stripped out for coolness. Really pleased with these as a replacement.

Bruce Napier: Very good, very dry, and the armour works...

I bought a complete suit for a GSXR tour of Scotland, after a total drenching on the NC500 the previous year. The rain was biblical again, but not a drop got as far as my skin. Superb. The armour was tested when a diesel spill caused me to hit the deck at 40mh. Hate to think what the damage would have been without the knee armour... they were cut off me by the ambulance crew, but I will be buying another pair of trousers. The jacket was fine, just some scuffs on the shoulder and tiny abrasions through the sleeve.

Andrew Thomas: Mr

Excellent piece of kit, nice and warm during winter months, comfortable fit. Not had chance to test in the wet yet.
