Helstons City boots in brown Product Information
The Helstons City boot in brown is about as simple and classic as it gets. The boot is made from a calfskin that has been treated with waxes and oils. This softens the leather but also makes it more protective from the elements. The boot comes with a particularly strong counter in the toe to compensate for the fact that there is no gearchange pad. Of course, you also get a counter in the heel as well as a soft protectors on the ankle. The boot has a waterproof lining, a side zip to make getting in and out a bit easier, and two speed hooks to the same end. The City has a strong, grippy, oil-resistant sole. It is CE approved and made in Europe.

Richard: Classy and protective
I bought these as a stealth pair of bike boots so I could walk around at my destination, be it the shops or work without clumpy biker boots. They go well with my armoured jeans and Klim Marrakesh for summer rides as well. They do need breaking in and I spent a few days wearing them for short walks on my COVID work-from-home lunch breaks. After a week or so, they were breaking in comfortably and now theyre good for all-day. I wore them riding to, from and all day walking around at this years Goodwood Festival of Speed with no complaints. They look really classy in brown waxed finish to my eyes and you wouldnt guess theyre bike boots. Within the bounds of a short boot, they feel protective and solid. The leather and finishing is top-drawer as well. They fit true to size, and for me anyway, have plenty of toe-room something that is sometimes mentioned as an issue with Helstons elsewhere. As with all footwear, I always try in-store. In summary, really pleased with them and would highly recommend for those needing whats pretty much a dual-purpose bikesmart-casual boot.
