Helstons Motorcycle Clothing

Helstons is one of France’s oldest and most respected makers of motorcycle apparel. The company is particularly renowned for its leather jackets. There’s nobody in the motorcycle world who knows more about constructing leather clothing than the folk at Helstons. It’s all in the detail; the way in which the panels are sewn together, the oils and waxes that are used to treat the leather, the seams, the linings. The guys at Helstons are obsessive and nothing escapes their scrutiny. The end result is a range of motorcycle clothing that is as beautiful to the eye, as it is exquisite to wear. Not that Helstons should be seen as a fashion business that is merely dabbling in the bike world for credibility. This is a motorcycle company though and through and, on a technical level, Helstons is right up there. Many of their leather jackets, boots and gloves have a waterproof membrane; jackets come with a back protector as standard and anti-abrasion panelling on the sleeves. Put all these factors together and you’d normally expect to pay a pretty penny, but Helstons’ prices are remarkably reasonable, in fact, they’re pretty amazing. We have worked with Helstons for nearly ten years and have many exclusive collaborations with the brand including the Travel boots worn by Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible!

Helstons Old leather belt in tan

Robin: Good quality soft leather belt...

I had been after a decent belt to go with my Rokker Legend jeans see separate review, and the obvious choice was Rokkers own leather belt options. Sadly, the Rokker options are only available in two sizes, basically large or small. Having tried both and found neither to be suitable I looked at what Helstons had to offer. Their Old Belt seemed to fit the bill, not least because its available in six sizes, and three colour options. Ordered one day and delivered the next, Im pleased to say Im more than happy with my purchase, which looks good with my Rokkers. Lovely soft leather, well made and it perfectly fits the Rokker belt loops. A recommended buy, particularly for Rokker jeans...

Absolutely love them. Quality is fantastic and made in Portugal which makes a refreshing change. I went for a half size bigger 42 instead of usual 41 and they fit perfectly. Very comfortable on and off the bike and I love the look. And packaging and delivery was spot on. Really pleased

Bryn Thomas: Superb jacket

I have a number of Helstons jackets as well as their traditional mesh. I bought this jacket as I like the military base style and it goes with my green cargo pants and green Scott rain jacket. I have just finished a 2 week trip to France and am very pleased with the jacket. it is lightweight and easy to wear especially when it is hot but I find with an undershirt, Klim Zephyr jacket and Scott rain jacket it will deal with cold and wet weather.
