The Belstaff Brooklands Mojave 2.0 jacket is an updated version of the longstanding, and much loved, Mojave that has been in the Belstaff range for over 10 years. It has been upgraded so that it can meet the requirements of the new CE regulations for protective motorcycle wear. Made from a heavy-duty, 10 ounce, British Millerain wax cotton, the biggest change from its predecessor is that it is now reinforced in the most vulnerable areas with a highly, abrasion-resistant lining that is made from a high-tenacity Cordura 500 canvas. In most other respects, this jacket is virtually identical to its predecessor. That means you get a seam-sealed Miporex waterproof membrane, CE armour in the shoulders and elbows, and a pocket for a back protector. For thermal protection, there’s a removable, quilted, 150g. gilet. On the outside of the jacket are two flap pockets and two zip pockets. Inside the jacket, there’s a side-facing pocket. Mike: Always wanted one!
When this jacket showed up on a Sunday sale I jumped at the opportunity and have not regretted it. Was a little concerned about getting the right size but it fits me like a glove and I couldnt be happier. The mahogany is so dark it looks black to me. A classic jacket at a great price!
Jonathan: Replacing an old friend
After several repairs and many miles I had to face the fact that my old wax cotton jacket simply had to be replaced. Easier said than done, I have procrastinated long enough! This summer I finally went in search of a worthy successor and found it in the shape of the Belstaff. From the moment I slipped it on there was an immediate sense of rightness, the fit, the finish and discovering that a medium size was a better fit than the large...flattery will get you everywhere! I even went away and tried other jackets, all excellent products in their own right, but, in the end I returned to the Brooklands Mojave. Took it out for its maiden trip around the Peak District and got caught in a hail storm. The jacket performed flawlessly. I'm even getting the hang of closing the buckles with one hand. Very happy.
