Adventure jackets

What constitutes an adventure bike jacket? Here at Motolegends our view is that a real adventure jacket is one where you either don't have a waterproof membrane or where the waterproof membrane can be removed. The other form of adventure jacket we feature here are laminated waterproof jackets with good venting. These we see as adventure style jackets better suited for touring which features some light off-roading.

Anyway, you can watch the full run down on Chris's Best Adventure jacket video here.

Klim Marrakesh jacket in teak brown

MMLV: Possibly The best jacket I own.

I watched Chris review of this jacket and was impressed. Ive bought a lot of kit from Motolegends and I have never been disappointed. I have a load of Rukka kit which, I have to say, is excellent the Nivala 2 suit is incomparable. I wanted a discreet summer jacket which would look good on an adventure bike and a cruiser style bike and to complicate things I wanted a larger size. This is something lesser manufacturers dont seem to offer in the UK. I already had a set of Scott waterproofs so the layering idea held some appeal. I took the plunge, ordering the Marrakesh with the waist zip conversion, and crossed my fingers. Since it arrived I have not worn another jacket on either of my bikes. The Marrakesh is so comfortable, its ridiculous, particularly given the levels of protection it offers. It zips nicely to my jeans with the Halvarsons waist belt thingy and flows so much air on the bike it makes rides on hot days so much more enjoyable. The manufacturing quality is faultless, and the jacket looks great. Id wear the Marrakesh for a summer tour without hesitation. Maybe not in the winterautumn, but then I have a Nivala 2 for that. I was so impressed with the Marrakesh jacket that I also ordered the Zephyr to go with it. If this is in your price bracket, my opinion is that you would struggle to find better.

Andrew Cranmer: Great grab and go jacket

I bought this to be a jacket to just throw on over a t-shirt or cotton jumper with jeans that looksfeels good when off the bike, but without compromising on safety. And it certainly doesnt disappoint. Very comfortable and looks great. I got the Zephyr liner and Scott waterproof, which makes it quite versatile, and upgraded to Level 2 armour for protection. I might use it for longer trips, and it would be fine, but given the vagaries of British weather it probably wont replace my Rukka laminated suit for this. Sizing is on the generous side.
