Rukka Toure-R gloves black Product Information
The classic Rukka summer-waterproof glove has long been the Virium. It's been in their range in various forms for as long as we can remember. It's a glove we sometimes overlook because it's become part of the furniture. We are often drawn by the new and exciting; and the Virium is neither of those. But those in the know, those who trudge up and down the A3 every day of the year on their commute from Surrey or Hampshire into the West End or the City swear by them. When they wear out, they come in and buy another pair.
Well the new Rukka Toure-R has a lot in common with the Virium.
The back of the glove features a fair amount of the same material that appears on the back of the Virium, although the cuff is made from an entirely different fabric that incorporates stretch inserts. The palm is a faux suede leather of some description.
You get an extra panel of an anti-slip material where your fingers and thumb wrap around the bars.
There's a hard knuckle protector that is backed with foam. You get foam pads on a couple of the minor knuckles. You get something similar at the base of the palm. The cuff also incorporates some padding.
The forefingers are touchscreen sensitive. You get a visor wipe on the left hand.
There's also some black reflective detailing.
There's a Velcro strap to secure the glove at the wrist. The cuff can be cinched down by means of a Velcro flap; and this works well; you won't have a problem getting the cuff inside the sleeve of any waterproof jacket.
Of course, as you would expect from Rukka the membrane is a Gore-Tex one. And what's more it's a laminated one; what is known as a Gore-grip membrane. This means a number of things. It means the glove will never wet out. It means lots of feel. And it means waterproofing guaranteed for life.
At just £140, the Toure-R is inexpensive for a Rukka glove. The R-Viss, for example, costs £220; and that too is a summer-waterproof glove that shares many of its key features with the Toure-R.
