Klim Baja S4 gloves in monument grey / redrock

Phil Barnes: Go to summer gloves

Bought these in anticipation of the summer that never came this year, but have found myself using them regularly whenever it is mild and dry, even if not boiling hot. Beautifully put together, light, soft and comfortable on the palm, great feel for the controls, masses of airflow. Sight gripes. There is a slightly irritating seam on the inside of the right thumb, but suspect it is peculiar to me and my hand that it sits in a slightly irritating place. It is wearing in with time. The other one is that the two smallest fingers are maybe slightly too long, but it is marginal and is just a matter of individual fit. Klim size large - I float between a medium and a large in most gloves, but I am most definitely a medium in Klim - I have these and the Adventure GTX as well and both are a generous medium. Highly recommended though.

Held Sambia gloves in black/grey

F D: Velours wouldnt be more comfortable

Quintessential summer glove, very comfortable and loads of feel. Reassuring construction with super fabric in major palm friction areas and a mini cuff made of TPR to head off nasty rashes. Knuckle protector looks the part but flows less air than it would let on which is fine, the glove is well aerated overall. The synthetic back gives nice stretch for good control while the leather palm gives great feel, a nice combination. You could type your memoir on these gloves. The only niggle I have is that the wrist wrap is not as convincing as on other Held gloves, above city speeds it might not be effective enough. But then again above city speeds, you should be wearing a full cuff glove perhaps. Cheers to Held for another great product and cheers to Legends for bringing it to market.
