Segura Lady Rita Crystal gloves in black

The Segura Lady Rita Crystal glove is what one might term a ‘cool’ glove. And with its central, wrist zip it looks a little like those gloves produced by Roland Sands a few years ago. But the truth is that whilst Roland’s gloves always looked super cool, they never worked particularly well as gloves. The Lady Rita is, as far as we’re concerned, a summer-waterproof glove; it’s the kind of glove you would wear with a cool, leather jacket of some description. But, in terms of functionality and wearability, it ticks all the boxes. The glove is made almost entirely of goat hide. Now goat hide is thinner and more supple than cowhide but, for its thickness, it is stronger. On the knuckles you get a moulded protector and, for extra strength in the event of an accident, you get an extra layer of leather on the palm and down the outside of the hand. Now whilst the Lady Rita is a classic summer-waterproof glove; it’s not what we would call a technical glove, although it will certainly keep you dry in a downpour. But, interestingly, this glove also has a light layer of thermal insulation; not enough for winter riding, but a lot of ladies get cold hands and so this layer of insulation will take the chill out of a chilly ride. The Segura Lady Rita has a mid-length cuff, and it fastens by means of a zip and a poppered strap. Finally, of course, this glove gets its particular name from the fact that, at the back of the hand, it has a stripe of genuine Swarovski crystals.
