Klim Outlander GTX boots in black Product Information
The Klim Outlander is a short, adventure-style boot. And it has to be acknowledged that there’s no shortage of these on the market. Normally, the manufacturers merely produce a cut-down version of their full-height, adventure boots. As a result, the boots from TCX, Gaerne, Forma, Falco et al. all look pretty much the same. Yes, these boots do a job, but that kind of expediency simply won’t wash at Klim.
That’s why Klim’s gear stands out from the crowd. The brief that Klim's marketing people issued here was for a short, ankle boot for adventure bike riders. The boot needed to be protective. It needed to be easier to put on and take off than a full-height adventure boot. The boot needed to be tough and strong with all the protective features that would be required when riding off the beaten track. The boot had to be totally waterproof. But most importantly it had to be a boot that you could also do a long hike in. This would need to be the kind of boot you’d be happy to wear for a walk to the top of the hill even after a long day in the saddle.
Waterproofing for the Outlander comes courtesy of Gore-Tex, as you would expect with Klim. And what this means is that the boot's waterproofing is guaranteed for life.
Of course, one of the most trick features of the Outlander is its BOA lacing system. It’s super strong and so easy to use. You can tighten these boots as tight as you want, yet in a jiffy easily relax the fit if you overdo it. The other benefit of the BOA lacing is that it allows you to open up the shaft more easily to create a far more generous entry. Rare will be the foot that cannot slide into this boot in classic, Cinderella fashion.
Other features include breathable Cordura panels interspersed with the leather, extra panels of reinforcing TPR material on the heel and toes, black Scotchlite reflective panels, a gearchange pad on the left boot, a hardened toe shield, and a shank in the sole for torsional rigidity.
At the back of the boot you get a loop for pulling the boot on. The shape of the insole, interestingly, has been informed by the Nestfit programme that has measured millions of feet to determine the optimum shoe fit. The breathable insole is removable and replaceable.
Undoubtedly, the Outlanders are ‘adventure’ in their styling. They would, therefore, look right with any off-road or adventure-style suit and on any adventure bike, but you could just as well wear them with a pair of Rokker jeans on your R nineT.

Eddie Jaoude: Best gear I have ever bought!
Wow these boots are amazing! I am wearing them on our bike adventures around Thailand and I rarely take them off. They feel just like a Timberland boot, super comfy and still protective. Best gear purchase I have ever bought.
Elwyn: Excellent
The boots are very light but still feel sufficiently protective. The Boa system makes them easy to put on and off. Theyve been comfortable from the off - no break in required. Ive worn them in very heavy rain several times and have stayed dry. Recommended.
Adam King: Didnt deliver for me on comfort
I saw great appeal in the design features of these boots on paper but my practical experience after owning them a few months has been pretty negative and I now rarely, if ever, wear them. The BOA system is convenient but the boot has firm- and thin-edged tongue which together gave a terrible pinch that no amount of adjustment could relieve. The softness of the inners seemed appealing at first but they form something of a seal around your foot which, along with limited breathability to the boot, quickly had my feet dripping in sweat. By contrast my Daytonas have a little slack between boot and sock in places which allows air to circulate - they surprisingly felt much cooler in summer. Positives are a lovely insole+sole combination which feels like a pair of trainers under-foot. Waterproofing of the outers was excellent and covered me for a light shower, but on a bike with leg-forward riding position they do soak inside in heavy rain despite best efforts with trousers - not unexpected at all with a short boot of course. I love Klim gear in general and perhaps I was unlucky with fit but these sadly didnt deliver for me.
Jared: Excellent!
These are outstanding. - Flawless waterproofing - Supremely comfortable - BOA lacing is amazing, so quick to adjust and take onoff. - They are actually good walking boots as well, light and flexible. Not just for a stroll around town, but a proper mountain climb.
DAVE JOHNSON: OUTLANDER BOOTS BY KLIM
This is my seconded pair of outlander boots which doesnt sound good until you realise I use them for everything work, riding and hill walking . Everything that needed improving from the first boots design Klim has done which where thing like the left boot gear lever pad covers a larger area and is stronger and a forth loop on the lacing system brilliant and I am unable to fault the service from Motolegends
Gary: Excellent boot
Ive had these boots for several months now and they really are worth the money. I even wear them as regular boots when Im not riding, they are that comfortable. The wire lacing system isnt a gimmick, as I thought it would be. It works so well by evenly tightening all the way up through the boot and easy to use with gloves. I mostly ride wearing jeans or commuting trousers and the boot looks fine with both. Klim have done an excellent job with these boots and it has made me look at Klim motorcycle wear as seriously as any other brand.
HB: Every day boot
True to size, after using it for a day you will feel very comfortable, its very light weight boot and easy to wear, I highly recommend it for daily use
Stuart: Brilliant Boots
After an injury to my ankle I needed to find a Boot that I could easily get on and off. My old Boots had a narrow entry, and were a real struggle to pull on and get off. These new Boots open up wide, and you can simply slide your foot in without even holding them, they are just as easy to get off, no more struggling! Love the BOA lacing system so simple, clever and easy to use. I usually take a UK size 9 or 9.5 but had to go up a size. Motolegends swapped them for me within a week. They are really comfortable to wear both on and off the bike, and look great. They are advertised as Adventure Boots but would work fine on pretty much any type of bike. The Boots arent cheap, but are worth the money.
Stuart: Perfect Boot
Just brought a pair of these. Initially had ordered a UK Size 9, but had to go a Size bigger, the replacements arrived fairly quickly and fit perfectly. After an ankle injury I struggled to get my old boots on, as they have a really narrow entry point. These boots open really wide so my injured foot just slips in easily, you dont even need to use your hands to pull the boot on. They also come off at the end of the day without a struggle. They are super comfortable, and riding with them is fine. Love the BOA Lacing System, so simple and easy to use. These are marketed as Adventure Boots, but would be just at home on any style of Bike. These boots may be expensive but are worth the money.
Charalampos: best boot
the most comfortable boot ever !!!
