Rokker Revolution AAA tapered jeans in blue Product Information
Rokker's Revolution jeans is still the only properly waterproof, properly protective motorcycle jean on the market. It was ground breaking when it was first introduced, and it still is.
Waterproofing comes courtesy of Schoeller’s C-Change membrane, which is both waterproof and breathable. And as it’s laminated to the inside of the Schoeller Dynatec outer fabric you are going to stay totally dry because the fabric is never going to 'wet out'. In really heavy rain, it will become damp, but it will never become soaking wet. And that’s important because any garment that wets out can swiftly cause you to feel very cold as well as very wet.
The C-Change membrane has one other quality. The molecules in the membrane close up to keep heat in when it’s cold, and open up to enhance breathability when it’s hot. This gives the jeans an ability to regulate the body’s temperature, albeit only to a degree.
The denim used for the Revolution jean looks like a proper, Japanese-style, selvedge denim; in fact, the jeans look just like a pair of vintage Levi’s. But the denim is also quite heavy, which goes some way towards explaining why the new jean attains the highest AAA rating under EN17092. The jeans come with highly-pliable, Level 1 SAS-Tec armour in the knees and hips. It’s not D3O, but it’s very similar. The zip on the Revolution jeans is also a waterproof one, as you might expect. In fact the only way for water to seep inside these jeans is potentially through the waist band or the pockets.
The fit on this jean what Rokker term a Tapered Slim fit. They are going to look much more modern than the original, straight-leg, Revolution jean; less dad-like. But the fit may well make them a bit sweatier than the old ones. The other point to note is that the tapered fit will not be wide enough to wear over a tall touring boot (unless it is a very slim model).
The Revolution was always a unique jean, the likes of which you couldn’t find elsewhere. Well the new AAA version is really just more of the same. Like the old one, just better.
These are not the jeans you necessarily want to be wearing in thirty degree temperatures. But when it’s a bit colder and a lot wetter this isn’t only a great jean to be wearing; it’s the only jean to be wearing.
If you’ve had a pair of Revolutions in the past, you may well be minded to upgrade them. If you’ve never had a pair, but want a jean that will keep you totally dry, then you should try them out.

John Watkins: Brilliant but not perfect
Ive had a pair of the original Revolution jeans since 2019 So this review is based on almost four years of use, firstly Id like to point out that they are not waterproof, they will keep out light rain for short periods but if youre touring in them all day and its wet your gonna get wet, with a light waterproof layer on top they will keep you dry all day. Their pretty good if you slide down the road, not the best but enough. I have a hole in mine, from such a slide, just above the knee armour which I have patched together, as a temporary repair. I will be buying a new pair from Motolegends to replace them because I do rate them, their main strength is riding in the spring, autumn when its not warm and slightly damp, they keep me much warmer than single layer jeans and dry in light rain, therefore I find myself wearing them by choice from September through to May. Ive toured through France and Ireland in pouring rain and chilly weather with these jeans and although they are nowhere near perfect they are practical, comfortable and look pretty good off the bike and my choice of jean for the vast majority of the year, the only time I dont wear them is on hot days when the sun is out, which unfortunately in this country is not as often as Id like.
Ben Langmead: These jeans are the business
It is rumoured among school children everywhere that Eskimos and Inuits have hundreds of words for snow. Well, living in Glasgow as I do, I can assure you the Scots have many more words than that for rain. I must admit that I was a little dubious about the waterproof properties of these jeans but so far they have stood up to a torrent, a shower, a downpour and two drizzleswith much more to come Im sure. The fit generously although are a little like the Tower of London in one respect no ballroom. They look fantastic and blend right in. Not sure I would want to wear them when its too warm but thats not a problem in the central belt of Scotland. Im extremely happy that I bought these and any misgivings about the price were soon washed away in the first downpour.
Norman Grundy: Super jeans
Having had lined protective jeans in the past, I was dubious about these. But no need to be, they are fantastic, so comfortable and light, I wear them at work in the shop all day, its just like wearing my Levis....highly recommend, considered investment but well worth it.
mred: Amazing jeans
These are perfect for the cooler, damp and, rainy season. The fit is spot on and the armor fits nice and snug
