Shirley Dinnell: Really comfortable boot but not waterproof

I bought a pair of the TCX Drifter boots for a ride across Canada. It took me a few rides to get used to them and to adjust my gear lever to get the boot under it. Having persevered I now really like them. They are comfortable and give a feeling of protection to my foot and lower leg. However, I am now 2 weeks into my Canada trip and had the first day of persistent rain and my socks are wet around the toes. I was wearing my Scott waterproof trousers over the boots so the water didnt get in that way. Despite this I still really like the boots but completely waterproof they are not.
