Warm & Safe Heated Gear

78-header

You may never have heard of ‘Warm and Safe’, but they are the oldest and most technically sophisticated maker of heated clothing. Most other makers merely copy the technology developed by Warm and Safe, although for the most part, they are normally two or three generations behind the American company. Warm and Safe Heated Clothing use ultra-fine carbon filaments, their fourth generation jacket provides all-over heat that extends right up to the collar. In contrast to its competitors, Warm and Safe heated gear are incredibly light and have thin inners that can usually be worn under any leather or textile jacket without moving up a size. So for your next motorcycle heated clothing or heated base layers, be sure to check out their range, especially the Warm and Safe Heated Jacket.

Paul: Revelatory

If youre sitting on the fence thinking about buying this kit get off and buy it. It is amazing and transforms the comfort of the ride. I bought the jacket and gloves yesterday Jan 26. I headed out this morning with a -4C temp and had a summer jacket over the Warm Safe one. I was hot! Gloves are toasty warm too. Definitely worth the investment

Gary: Warm and Safe base layer, trousers, socks and glove liners

Ive worn the base layer shirt and trousers a few times now, the last time was in -1C temperatures with just a jumper and cheap Oxford Metro jacket with the thermal liner over the top. I never once felt cold or uncomfortable. The shirt is brilliant, so much so, I wear it all the time now. It is comfortable and unobtrusive, you dont feel the wires when wearing it. Its great just as a base layer even without turning it on. The trouser liners are a bit hit and miss. They tend to heat up the upper thighs at the front and the knees. They heat up really well but its a shame theres no heating elements at the back of the thighs as when riding at motorway speeds the cold air wraps around your legs and you can really feel the difference in temperature, also, the last time I wore them there was a real hot-spot on the right knee, I had to turn the heat down so much that the rest of the trousers cooled down to the point that they were ineffective. Although, the first time I wore them the heat was spread evenly down the front of my legs. Ill try them again and see what happens as it may have just been the elements bunched up or something. The dual controller is brilliant for getting the heating levels just right and although expensive its a must if youre wearing more than one garment. Unfortunately, the dust cap for the power outlet cable has came off and gone missing, that could do with fitting tighter to the cable as I have no weather protection for that connector when its not being used now. I am yet to wear the socks and glove liners so Ill update this review once Ive tested them. All in all, even though it is really expensive gear, it is an absolute game changer for riding on cold days. This gear is that good that you will never feel cold. I was on the M6 last week with just the shirt, a t-shirt and an RST leather jacket on and I was still warm. Its expensive stuff but well worth the outlay.

Warm & Safe ladies heated jacket liner in black

Graham: Very warm

Jacket fits nicely under a bike jacket, slides around easily and is very comfortable. Compared to other jackets I have tried you hardly notice you are wearing it. The heat output is superb and to be honest unless out in minus temperatures doesnt need more than half a turn on the controller. I was recently out for a four hour ride with temperature hovering around 3 to 4 degrees C and never went above half way on the heat output. I also have my Keis gloves connected to the jacket outputs in the sleeves and this works fine. The fit of the jacket is OK, fine around the upper body but a bit snug around the mid section. This is not much of an issue as the zipper is two way so you can put some ease in this area. For reference I am 6 ft tall 14 st 10 lbs 94 Kg with a 44 inch chest and 38 inch waist. Apart from a little bit of a niggle about the waist area cant fault the jacket and think worthy of five stars
