Belstaff Long Way Up down jacket Product Information

The Belstaff down jacket has two, poppered pockets, two internal pockets and YKK zips. Like the Rukka version it packs into a small stuff sack, for which a place can normally be found on most bikes. If you’d like a world-class, thermal, mid-layer that will pass for a super-fashionable jacket when you’re off the bike, this is the one. Comprising 90% duck down and 10% duck feathers, it is incredibly warm, yet compresses easily beneath an outer biking jacket. But under a Belstaff Trialmaster Pro or Crosby jacket the longer Belstaff will be much more appropriate and effective.

Specification

  • 90/10 natural duck down
  • Chassis made from down-proof Nylon?
  • Two external, snap pockets
  • Two internal patch pockets
  • YKK zips
  • Packable into stuff sack

Reviews

Tony: Delighted!

Perfect size and weight for layering in colder weather, but also fine as a destination jacket. All in all a superb purchase.

Jeffrey: Easy to wear inside outer jacket

Reasonably warm and easy to wear without feeling clumsy inside outer jacket. Good as a mid layer when the temperature drops, but not when it drops below 10c, then its heated jacket time.

Terence: Well Made and Snug

Ive been wearing this out and about because it looks good and its very warm. Its also great as a mid layer on the bike! Its maybe an inch or two short at the waist but then my bike jacket is quite short and I dont want it poking out at the bottom. Also I couldnt resist the sale price!

Mike: Superb mid layer

Not much to say really other than this is my go to mid layer. With the Rukka down jackets as my back ups. Fits well under all my motorcycle jackets and looks good too. I found the sizing spot on.

Don Lynn: Great buy

Not worn on the bike yet but worn many times, great quality and very stylish and warm and comfortable will probably turn out to be one of my best buys

Rick: Just What I Needed

Looking for a down jacket to go under my laminate outer which came with the usual thin liner and was totally useless when it got cold. After watching the reviews by the chap in the cap I opted for the Belstaff jacket, mainly because it wasnt too long in the body and would fit nicely underneath without showing and it didnt have a tall collar which would have restricted my neck movement when my outer was fastened over it. Suffice to say it fits my needs perfectly and after riding in the recent very cold weather found it to be comfortably warm. Highly recommended.

Darren: Quality Jacket

What a great lightweight jacket to wear on its own, and great as a base layer jacket. Pay the extra to get the quality of belstaff.

Wngdangdoodle: Quality kit

Exactly what you would expect from Belstaff. High quality, functional and stylish

Nick: Great quality

Really pleased with this Long Way Up jacket. Its very comfy and warmer than I expected it to be. Even better that it wears well on its own, but is easily compressible under a thicker jacket. It comes with a little bag to roll it up in too. External branding is regular Belstaff logo on sleeve.

Brian: Very good

Great fit, very warm as an extra layer, easy to get top coat on over the top, looks good on its own. Very happy with the purchase.

Mark Simpson: Long Way Up Down Jacket

Great fit both on its own and as an extra base layer at this time of year. Easy to store in saddle bag. Expected it being made on home soil being Belstaff especially with the price not in Vietnam. All in all really pleased albeit slightly expensive.

Mark: Warmth with style

Bought this as I had no proper mid layer ever, tanktops don't cut it. It is super comfy and warm and squashes in into my Halvarsson Walkyr well. When worn as an independent jacket looks very good that is until like myself crammed it into its carry bag to see if it fits in for carrying in the top box or panniers, I left the jacket in for a few hours and remembered it was there so removed it to hang up and it looked like a tramps cast off. After a couple of weeks it looks good again. Worth the money.
