Rokker Bozeman rider shirt in black Product Information
Rokker calls the Bozeman a riding shirt, but we just don't see it. Yes, it has a button-down collar, but in every way it's more a lightish weight jacket than a shirt. It comes with a quilted lining; and certainly we've never come across a shirt with one of those.
Not that this is a problem. You just need to understand what is going on here. If what you're looking for is a protective riding shirt to wear on a warm day instead of a jacket, the Bozeman is probably not for you. The Bozeman is something you'd actually wear over a shirt.
The shirt is made from a heavy-duty cotton twill fabric that is infused with much stronger Polyamide fibres. And that's enough to ensure that it passes the EN17092 abrasion test at the AA level.
The jacket comes supplied with SAS-TEC Level 1 armour for the shoulders and elbows. There's a pocket for a back protector, and you'd have a choice of something from D3O or Rheon.
You get two, poppered, flapped pockets on the chest and two lower slash pockets with zips below. There are two more zip pockets on the inside of the jacket.
The back is slightly lowered for better coverage of the belt line when you're on the bike.
The jacket is secured for riding by means of a full-length zip up the front. This is covered by a poppered placket.
At the ends of the sleeves, you get zips and a two-position popper system to cinch the wrist in at the cuff.
And then, of course, there's the leather that runs over the shoulders and into the button-down collar.
Whatever the Bozeman is, it's a cool bit of kit. What it's not is a technical piece, other than the fact that its fabric incorporates super-strong fibres to allow it to pass EN17092 at the AA level. The jacket has no membrane so is very much aimed at mild weather riding; it's the kind of jacket you'd wear on a classic bike or some kind of custom.
You wouldn't commute in the Bozeman, and you certainly wouldn't go touring in it. But if you want to put on a bit of style on a ride out with the gang, the Bozeman would be perfect. It's a bit of a looker!
