Stylmartin Legend Evo boots in black Product Information
The Stylmartin Legend is a cruiser boot; it’s a style that is based on an engineers’ boot.
The engineer’s boot is a classic piece of Americana. As the name suggests, it is derived from the style of boot that was worn by the engineers who rode the footplates of the steam engines on the railroads in America in the nineteenth century. After the war this became the footwear of choice for motorcyclists. And what that means is that it became a staple for the V-twin fraternity. With whom it is still popular today.
It’s made from an oiled, full-grain leather. This leather is quite waterproof, but the real waterproofing comes from a breathable, waterproof membrane.
Protection-wise the Legend is equipped with a military-grade counter in the toe. The counter in the heel is pretty stiff too. In both ankles there are foam-backed, ankle protectors. A gearchange pad is sewn on to the voluminous toe box.
The boot is pretty easy to get in and out of. Ingress and egress are effected by means of a full-height zip up the inside of the boot. The boot comes with two, buckled straps. One at the top of the shaft. One across the forefoot. I suppose you could adjust the fit with them, but truth be told they are more decorative than functional.
The initiated might think that this boot has a proper, welted construction, but actually what it has is what is known as a ‘faux’ welt. The white thread may well be sewn through a welt, but that stitching doesn’t go through the midsole and the outsole. The outsole is a genuine, Vibram sole with a Commando-style tread pattern. Inside the boot you get a removable, anatomical insole for comfort.
This Legend is a boot for those who want a tall boot but; but something that is more interesting and stylish than a regular touring or commuting boot.

Steve H: Pretty good
I am quite pleased with these, though would say they are no better than they should be for the price. What's good: comfortable on and off the bike, easy to get on, good feel for the controls, will go over or under trousers, warm (I suspect too warm for summer TBH). Seem fairly robust though I will try not to put that to the test. Might have liked a slightly stiffer sole though that is a trade off with comfort, and as they say the safest gear is the gear you will actually wear. They sized up pretty true to size for me. Less good: a few niggles on the design. To get them on you have to lower the zip below the strap at the ankle. This is Ok, (unless you tighten the strap you can poke the zipper through with a finger) but then you can't tighten the strap if you wanted. The little tab of leather that goes over the top of the zip isn't really big enough to fasten firmly with its Velcro and can come open (so far the zip has not pulled down though. Last although the leather is really nice, the gusset behind the expansion cut at the top (if you see what I mean) is some high gloss plasticy looking stuff. (so it is behind the zip but you can't see that when the boot is on). None of this is exactly stuff you worry about when you are wearing them on the bike though.

I bought a pair elsewhere and I cant give them a five just yet as they where so difficult to get on until I bought silk socks, now no problem and I expect them ( its day three) to wear really well. They have a very good grip and are warm
