Motorcycle gloves
There are many different styles of motorcycle glove to suit just about every kind of riding situation, and if you ride across the seasons, it is likely that you will have to equip yourself with more than one pair of gloves. For summer riding, and when it’s dry, it’s hard to argue against leather motorcycle gloves. It’s comfortable to wear, has strength for abrasion resistance, and gives the rider good feel at the controls. You could equally go for a textile version, but in essence a summer glove has no membrane. But leather is not good in the rain, as it simply absorbs moisture. This can leave you feeling both wet and cold. When it’s cold but dry, you may want to go for a padded leather glove. Every biker will probably also need a pair of waterproof motorcycle gloves. These can either be a summer weight, called a summer waterproof glove; or, for when it is cold and wet, an insulated and waterproof glove, known as a winter glove. Of course, from a style perspective, there are dozens of different designs that allow you to match your glove to the style of bike you ride.
We particularly like and recommend Richa gloves and Held gloves. Both companies started out as glove manufacturers so they really know gloves. Richa make very highly spec'd gloves at very competitive prices. Held make quite unique gloves and in a good range of sizing including short-fingered versions.

Klim Badlands GTX long gloves in grey
I have been hunting for a pair of winter gloves for ages. These do the job very well. Ordered big to take a silk inner glove and give me room for my large hands. The gloves are beautifully made and after one Sunday afternoon ride moulded to my hand. The gloves are warm and with heated grips allow warmth to circulate around the whole hand. The wrist adjustment works well and does what it says but the large end grip does not always sit inside my jacket sleeve nicely. I suspect I need to experiment a little. All in all, very pleased with purchase and an excellent addition to my collection.

Klim Badlands GTX long gloves in black
Ive only used the gloves for a month now, during November December. The temperature was around 5 degrees Celsius, so not too cold, but on high speeds 70 hour on motorway for over 1 hour. It tried with the heat grips on and it was ok, but still feeling the cold although bearable. With the heat grips on lowest setting I had no issues, so overall 45 for cold protection. The gloves are comfortable probably 45 for comfort and the touch screen its ok although sometimes it would not be as responsive 45 rating. But the built quality feels 55 and they also look great 55. I managed to get this during the ML discounts, so overall I would still rate this as 55.
