Down jackets for motorcyclists

Layering is important for keeping warm on the motorcycle and unless you use heated gear, a down jacket is the warmest option you can choose. We offer down jackets from Klim and from Rukka

Belstaff Nimbus down jacket in black

Richard Fox: Warm

I have a few down jackets, including a Uniqlo light down jacket. The Nimbus is definitely in a different league. Warm and comfy to wear. Layered it with merino for a v cold ride out on my naked bike and it worked a treat. Very smart off the bike too for a beer at the pub. All round very happy with it. Recommended.

Klim Maverick down jacket in stealth black

Pete: Outstanding!

Chris review and customer reviews all accurately highlight how good the Maverick is, so I wont repeat only to endorse their comments. Three further points that may be useful 1 The down filling doesnt move, and it doesnt come out. Anyone familiar with down filled products will know this and its annoying... with the Maverick the filling stays where intended and it doesnt come out. 2 I wear the Klim Zephyr over the Maverick... both are sized Large and these same sizes work well together... presumably Klim had this in mind when sizing. 3 Wearing both under a heavy and armoured leather jacket, compression in the Maverick is such that theres very little elbow restriction, so no pins needles in the hands as blood flow remains unimpaired. This is a brilliant must-have component of a multi-layered system. Looks cool too. As usual, MotoLegends service was outstanding. Ordered on a Wednesday afternoon, arrived in Northern Ireland Friday morning. Thank you!!

Klim Maverick down jacket in potters clay

Limeplasterer: Form and function

This really is a great jacket. Its fits well under both my textile and even tight fitting leather jackets. Incredibly light and warm. Ive 6 feet tall, broad shoulders, 12 12 stone and longish arms and the medium fits me like a glove. I compared this with the L sized Belstaff down jacket which was too short in both the arms and the length - I suspect the XL would be the same size as the Mavericks medium, so go down a size for the Maverick and up one for the Belstaff. A bonus is that this coverts my non-motorcycle summer jackets into instant warm autumn winter garments as its almost invisible underneath. The clay colour isnt too garish and Im normally conservative with my colour choices. Only criticism, and to be fair Im struggling to think of anything, is an inside Napoleon pocket would make it more usable as an off-the-bike jacket particularly given of the 3 down jackets ML offer, this is the one most likely to be worn off the bike. A winner that Ill be using a great deal.
