The outer is made from a windproof material; it also has a waterproof coating. The jacket is going to be incredibly insulating, but the beauty is that, worn beneath a motorcycle jacket, it takes up almost no room. It is also easy to carry when it’s not being worn; in fact, the Maverick actually folds up into its own pocket.
The other benefit of a down jacket, of course, is that off the bike it can just be worn as a kind of casual winter top. It seems appropriate that Klim should have a jacket like this in its range because, in most cases, Klim jackets do not come with a thermal layer. The Maverick is therefore going to be the perfect mid-layer for just about any Klim outer jacket, although it will work just as well under any motorcycle jacket.

Danny Rudman: Must have a Maverick
So light when worn and squeezes up tight when worn under my leather jacket as a warming layer. Most effective as a thermal layer, yesterday I had to remove my Maverick to cool down. The jacket somehow folded into its pocket and I stashed the Maverick in my bag. Highly recommended
Richard Cleverly: Klim quality, good on and off the bike
I like my kit to be able to do double duty so I can use it on and off the bike without compromising either. Ive got Rab and Rukka down jackets which are both excellent but the Rab is a bit short at the back and the Rukka a bit shiny for my off bike tastes. The Maverick nails both. Love it.
