Klim Motorcycle Gear

Klim makes technical motorcycle clothing for adventure bike riders for motorbiking either on or off road. Working only with top brands like Gore-Tex, YKK, BOA, Cordura, Koroyd and D3O. What makes Klim special is that it is a company that stands apart from the crowd. You won't find a version of another companies' product. What you get from Klim is unique, well thought through, properly researched and tested products that will work for motorcyclists out in the real world.

If we were to cut to the chase and try to explain what Klim is about, I think we would suggest that this is an organisation that is totally product focused. The place is run by ‘gear geeks’. Klim is all about the product. Funnily enough, there actually aren’t many motorcyclists in the motorcycle apparel manufacturing business. And one of the results of this is that the clothing that comes out of most motorcycle clothing brands doesn’t get tested in anger before it goes into production. Klim is different. At Klim everybody rides a motorcycle. They ride in the gear before it goes into production to make sure it is going to do what it’s supposed to do. They test it almost to the point of destruction, and they care about the tiniest details. For the real adventure rider, in the UK or around the world, Klim is a brand you must consider.

Here at Motolegends we have been a seller of the brand for a number of years and are certainly one of the biggest UK stockists for Klim. The company has only been making gear since 1999 but it has become the best in the field. Their pursuit of the highest quality fabrics and materials is unrelenting and, to an extent, they have pioneered the use of Gore-Tex laminates in the off-road arena. But no company puts more time and energy into real-world research. They don't follow trends or fashion. They are interested only in gear that works on the bike; gear that works in the most extreme of conditions, and when it is being put through its paces by the most committed of riders, Klim’s gear works. It is not the cheapest, but it works. It will always keep you dry, keep you cool, and keep you safe. Such is their belief in their product, Klim has an unprecedented life-time warranty on their products.

We have more trouble keeping Klim gear on our shelves than getting rid of it but there are sometimes great items to be had in the Klim sale section.

Warm & Safe heated jacket liner in black

Brian: Really excellent piece of kit.

Im pretty much aligned with all the rave reviews so far. Comfortable and a breeze to connect with the long single cable. Works brilliantly. Remote control is a must have for easy adjustability. A couple of very minor grumbles that may be useful to feed back 1. The index markers on the rc dials would be more obvious on the front rather than the sides. 2. The neck fit is too loose bearing in mind that you need and are recommended to use only a thin base layer under the jacket. Ive got an 18 inch neck so you wouldnt expect a gap that lets the cold air in and needs filling with a neck tube or two! 3. Im not a fan of the two-way zips as you want the jacket hem to remain a snug fit all around and not for the lower zip to slide open. The material is slightly stretchy anyway so I dont see the need for the two-way zip. 4. Ive now got at least seven merinodown base and mid-layers that cost a packet and are now completely redundant!! A fabulous jacket.

Scott Ergo Pro DP waterproof jacket in hi-vis

Andrew: Five start product

I own two of these and they have two big benefits. First, it is all day waterproof. I have ridden in the worst that Wales can provide and in all day rain in Scotland and stayed dry. Second, it makes you more visible - safer in dodgy weather and on tour the others can see you from further away. My first one was a XXL to go over my big jacket but I found it too flappy over my smaller jacket and was a pain this year riding into the wind on a naked bike. Took it off in the end So now I have one size smaller - XL - which is a snug fit over my Marrakesh and is easier to wear Tis a 5 start product and a no-brainer purchase
